A Liberal’s Audacity: Taxpayer Dollars Diverted to Care for Illegal Aliens
According to The Center Square, Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker of Illinois recently made a shocking announcement. He revealed that his state has redirected taxpayer funds from citizens to support illegal immigrants.
Pritzker boldly stated, “We have taken some of the programs that have pre-existed the crisis and adjusted them to help with the migrant crisis.”
But here’s the kicker: the burden of this financial support falls on the shoulders of U.S. citizens in Illinois who are struggling to pay rent. Instead of receiving assistance, they are now contributing to the care of illegal immigrants.
It’s truly astonishing that Pritzker can get away with such a decision. Only a complete stranglehold on reliably Democratic voters, who may be oblivious or kept ignorant by establishment media propaganda, could prevent a backlash.
But Pritzker’s audacity doesn’t stop there. During an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” he was asked about the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago and whether the city could handle it amid the surge of illegal immigration.
His response was filled with concentrated gall. Pritzker said, “I am confident that we can handle it. But again, it will require help from the federal government, and someone needs to work in Texas with these border politicians to have them stop sending people only to blue cities and blue states.”
Wait a minute. Isn’t that exactly what Democrats wanted? Didn’t they vote for that very thing?
Illinois Republican state Rep. Kevin Schmidt called out Pritzker and his liberal friends for creating this problem themselves by making Illinois a sanctuary state. He pointed out that while they may support certain ideologies and policies, they don’t want the consequences in their own backyard.
It’s time for rich liberals and other self-righteous moralists to face the consequences of their actions at the polls. Veterans and poor people should not bear the burden of a crisis they did not create.
Unfortunately, this pattern is not unique to Illinois. Hotels in Massachusetts have canceled reservations for veterans and their families attending the Army-Navy game to accommodate illegal immigrants. In New York City, Democratic Mayor Eric Adams announced massive cuts in services while over 30,000 illegal aliens received free healthcare on the taxpayers’ dime.
Sooner or later, Democratic voters must realize that the politicians and donors they support actually despise them. It’s time for these rich liberals to take responsibility for the crisis they have created.
