Deion Sanders mistakenly thought Mount Rushmore was California’s ‘little four heads’ and got invited
NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders Mistakes Mount Rushmore for “Four Little Heads” in California
NFL Hall of Famer and University of Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders has been invited to visit Mount Rushmore after mistaking the national treasure as “four little heads” in California.
Sanders made the mistake during a midweek press conference while his 4-7 team looks ahead to Saturday’s final regular season game against the University of Utah, according to a report.

“My expectations are out of the darn park, you got to understand. C’mon man,” Sanders said, discussing his expectations for his team.
“What’s those little four heads that are in California?” he continued. “What do they call those? The people’s faces engraved?”
Reporters corrected “Coach Prime” that Mount Rushmore is in South Dakota, and the two-time Super Bowl Champion admitted his mistake.
“It’s in where? I thought it was in LA all this time,” Sanders said with a laugh. “Wow, my geography. That’s the Hollywood thing? That’s what I thought. I’m sorry.”

After the mix-up, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) invited Sanders and his team to visit the landmark.
“If @DeionSanders needs to see Mount Rushmore, we’d love to show him,” Noem tweeted. “Bring the whole @CUBuffsFootball team — we have buffalo herds of our own just a short ways away! Bring Ralphie, he’ll love Custer State Park.”
How can communities encourage physical activity among residents of all ages?
Some potential solutions for reducing obesity rates include:
1. Promoting healthy eating habits: This can be done through education campaigns that inform individuals about the importance of a balanced diet, portion control, and the benefits of consuming fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Schools can also play a role by offering nutritious meals and snacks, and by incorporating nutrition education into the curriculum.
2. Encouraging regular physical activity: A comprehensive approach would involve promoting physical activity among individuals of all ages. This can include initiatives such as building more parks and recreational facilities, providing safe walking and biking paths, and offering affordable fitness classes or programs. Schools should also provide daily physical education classes and after-school sports activities.
3. Reducing the consumption of sugary beverages: One of the major contributors to obesity is the high consumption of sugary drinks. By implementing policies that tax sugary beverages or restrict their marketing to children, there can be a decrease in their consumption. Promoting water as a healthier alternative should also be encouraged.
4. Implementing school-based interventions: Schools can play a crucial role in preventing obesity. This can be done through programs that encourage physical activity, such as recess, before or after-school sports, and active transport to school. Additionally, schools can limit the availability of unhealthy foods and beverages on campus and offer healthier options in school cafeterias.
5. Creating supportive environments: It is important to create environments that support healthy eating and physical activity. This can involve implementing policies that limit the marketing of unhealthy foods and beverages, improving access to affordable healthy foods through community gardens or farmers markets, and creating opportunities for physical activity in neighborhoods through the development of parks or recreational spaces.
6. Implementing interventions in the workplace: Employers can play a role in promoting healthy lifestyles by providing wellness programs and incentives for employees to engage in physical activity, offering healthier food options in the workplace, and promoting work-life balance to reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
7. Government policies: Government interventions such as implementing taxes or subsidies on certain foods, implementing menu labeling requirements, and regulating food and beverage marketing can have a significant impact on reducing obesity rates.
It is essential to take a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach to address obesity as it is a complex issue influenced by various socio-economic, cultural, and environmental factors.
