Dean Phillips resigns from Democratic leadership position.
Rep. Dean Phillips Steps Down from House Democratic Leadership
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) has made the bold decision to step down from his role in House Democratic Leadership. Why? Because he’s publicly considering a bid for president against the Democratic incumbent, President Joe Biden.
“My convictions relative to the 2024 presidential race are incongruent with the majority of my caucus, and I felt it appropriate to step aside from elected leadership,”
In a statement to Axios, Phillips explained his reasoning for stepping down as co-chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. Despite consistently voting in support of Biden’s position, Phillips has been vocal in his disagreements with the president for months.
Phillips, who represents a Minnesota district that was once deep red, flipped it in 2018. In August, he called on Democrats to find an alternative candidate to run against Biden in 2024. He has even mulled over the idea of his own potential bid against the sitting president.
“I am thinking about it. I haven’t ruled it out,” Phillips said on a podcast. “I’m concerned that there is no alternative.”
Phillips has also made waves within his party by being the first Democrat to call on Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to resign when he was indicted on corruption charges. While some Democrats have since joined in calling for Menendez’s resignation, Phillips remains in the minority as an elected official seeking an alternative to Biden in the upcoming election.
It remains to be seen how Phillips’s opposition to the president, a sentiment shared by voters in various polls, will impact his chances of reelection next year.

What are the characteristics of a right isosceles triangle
There are several ways to classify triangles based on their angles and sides. Here are some common classifications:
Based on angles:
1. Acute triangle: A triangle where all three angles are less than 90 degrees.
2. Right triangle: A triangle where one angle measures exactly 90 degrees.
3. Obtuse triangle: A triangle where one angle is greater than 90 degrees.
Based on sides:
1. Scalene triangle: A triangle where all three sides have different lengths.
2. Isosceles triangle: A triangle where two sides have the same length.
3. Equilateral triangle: A triangle where all three sides have the same length.
Combinations of the above classifications can also exist. For example, a triangle can be acute and isosceles, or obtuse and scalene.
