Dax Shepard voices concerns about Biden, debates ‘non-binary’ guest on transgender athletes.
Actor Dax Shepard Expresses Disgust with President Biden, Engages in Heated Debate on Transgender Youth
During a recent episode of his popular podcast “Armchair Expert,” actor Dax Shepard didn’t hold back his criticism of President Joe Biden. In a lively discussion with “non-binary” guest Jonathan Van Ness, the two clashed over transgender youth.
Shepard’s frustration stemmed from Biden’s comparison of the devastating wildfires in Maui to a small kitchen fire. He found it absurd and embarrassing that Biden is considered the best option to lead the country.
“This is insane that this is our best option. It’s insane … This is not the best option for us, and it’s so embarrassing. I’m not willing to lie about that,” Shepard passionately expressed.
While Shepard’s critique of Biden went unchallenged, his opinion on teenagers transitioning their biological sex sparked a tearful response from Van Ness.
“Some people are very uncomfortable about teenagers transitioning. How do we know that the person’s not gonna change their mind? To even question it makes you an enemy. I don’t think that’s the way forward,” Shepard argued.
The debate intensified as Van Ness defended the rights of transgender individuals in sports, dismissing concerns about safety and fairness.
“Sports are inherently dangerous, sports are also inherently extremely unfair,” Van Ness countered.
The conversation took a personal turn when Van Ness expressed disappointment in those who support conservative positions on anti-grooming legislation.
“It does hurt my heart to see people who I respect taking up for [conservative] positions,” Van Ness admitted.
Despite their differences, Shepard and Van Ness acknowledged the complexity of the issues at hand and the importance of respectful dialogue.
“You can have racist beliefs and not know you’re racist, just like you can have transphobic beliefs and not realize you have transphobic beliefs. That doesn’t mean you’re a bad person,” Van Ness explained.
The discussion continued to generate attention, with Van Ness posting on Instagram about “transphobia in sports.” The debate highlighted the ongoing struggle for acceptance and understanding.
