Danish member of the European Parliament tells Trump to ‘f*** off’

Danish politician Anders Vistisen had choice words for President Donald Trump on Tuesday, telling him to “f*** off” during a European Parliament floor speech.

As the European Parliament convened for a session to discuss how to respond to Trump’s repeated threats to acquire Greenland from Denmark, Vistisen echoed a speech he gave in January 2025 where he also dropped the F-bomb in an impassioned speech about Greenland.

“Let me put this in words you might understand: Mr. President, f*** off,” Vistisen said, repeating his speech from 2025.

Vistisen was immediately cut off by the parliamentarian, who reminded the right-wing Danish politician of the rule against curse words on the floor.

“The only language Trump understands is direct language and the only rebuttal that Trump understands is a strong one from the EU. But the EU has given in,” Vistisen said, according to a European Parliament translator.

He urged the parliament to give “a clear rejection, a clear no” to the Trump administration during his Tuesday speech.

“Greenland has been part of the Danish kingdom for 800 years,” Vistisen said in his similar remarks in 2025. “It’s an integrated part of our country. It is not for sale.”

His renewed comments come as Trump put his foot down again this week, maintaining that the U.S. must acquire Greenland for national security purposes. The Trump administration has argued that the Arctic island is necessary to curb Russian and Chinese aggression in the region.

“Greenland is very important for the national security, including of Denmark,” Trump told reporters last week. “The problem is, there’s not a thing that Denmark can do about it if Russia or China wants to occupy Greenland, but there’s everything we can do. You found that out last week with Venezuela.”

The Trump administration threatened European nations on Saturday with 10% tariffs starting in February if they do not support Trump’s efforts to acquire Greenland, a move that has received pushback from European leaders as the World Economic Forum rolls out in Davos.

Overnight, Trump posted on Truth Social an apparent artificial intelligence-generated image of himself, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance, standing next to a sign that read “Greenland, US Territory, EST. 2026” and they marked Greenland with an American flag.
