Cruz: Dems won’t oust Biden, even with video evidence of Russian oligarchs funding him.
Sen. Ted Cruz: Democrats Won’t Vote to Remove Biden from Office Even with Video Evidence of Bribery
In a recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) made a bold statement about the Democrats in Washington, D.C. He claimed that even if there was undeniable video evidence of President Joe Biden accepting “bags of cash” from Russian oligarchs, the Democrats would still refuse to vote for his removal from office.
This statement comes at a time when House Republicans are contemplating launching an impeachment inquiry into Biden. The allegations revolve around claims that both Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, accepted millions of dollars in bribes from a Ukrainian energy executive. These bribes were allegedly given in exchange for the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating corruption allegations at the executive’s company.
Impeachment as a Remedy
Cruz emphasized that impeachment is not subject to statutes of limitations. Therefore, one potential remedy is to impeach Biden for bribery if the House can present compelling evidence. According to Cruz, if the House demonstrates such evidence, they should proceed with impeachment.
However, Cruz expressed doubt about the integrity of Senate Democrats. He stated, “I’m not naive enough to think that there’s even a single Democrat who cares. We could literally have video of Russian and Ukrainian oligarchs handing Joe Biden bags of cash or three-carat diamonds or sports cars or watches, and that would not be enough to move a single Democrat vote.”
No Criminal Prosecution?
Regarding the possibility of criminally prosecuting Biden, Cruz suggested that it may not matter even if there is evidence. He argued that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland would likely never prosecute Biden. Cruz criticized Garland, stating, “Merrick Garland sent his own integrity up the river. And it’s sad because the guy used to be a respected federal judge, and he’s going to go down in history, I believe, as the most partisan Attorney General in U.S. history.”
