Cruz criticizes Special Counsel’s team for meeting Biden staffers.

Sen. ‌Ted ‌Cruz Slams Special Counsel and President Biden

During a recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) passionately criticized Special⁢ Counsel‍ Jack Smith and President Joe Biden. The senator’s remarks came in response to a meeting between Smith’s top ‍aide, Jay Bratt, and Caroline‍ Seba, deputy chief of ⁣staff for the White House counsel’s⁢ office, ‌as well as FBI⁣ agent Danielle Ray.

Cruz expressed his‌ astonishment at ‌the meeting taking place at the White House, ⁢stating, “I actually am stunned that they would do this meeting at the White House. I’m absolutely stunned.” He went on to explain that such meetings are typically ⁤reserved for⁣ senior ⁤officials within the Department of Justice, emphasizing the importance of appropriate communication ‍channels.

While Cruz acknowledged that there‍ are valid reasons for the DOJ and the White House ⁢to collaborate on policy and ‍national security matters, he firmly believed that⁣ this particular meeting ⁤was‌ not one of ⁤those instances. He highlighted ‌the unusual nature of an Assistant US Attorney ⁤(AUSA) meeting with the White‍ House, especially considering ‍that the individual in question was a senior lawyer in the Special Counsel’s office.

According⁢ to Cruz, the appointment of a ‍Special Counsel is meant to ensure separation from ‌the White ‍House due to potential conflicts ⁣of interest. Therefore, for a lawyer from ⁢the Special Counsel’s office to meet with the White House⁢ without a clear explanation raised serious concerns of corruption.

Cruz concluded his ⁢remarks by stating that the level of ⁣corruption displayed in this situation would even make the Ukrainians blush.
