CPAC holds event targeting Latino voters in Virginia before 2025 elections
The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) recently held a Latino Rally in Virginia aimed at mobilizing Latino voters ahead of the November gubernatorial election. Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) and other Republican leaders spoke at the event,emphasizing themes of faith,family,and common-sense leadership to counter what they described as radical left policies. The rally focused on encouraging voter turnout to influence the 2025 elections.
CPAC seeks to maintain the growing support among latino voters for the Republican Party,noting that Hispanic support for Trump increased from 28% in 2016 to 48% in 2024. Despite some concerns within the Latino community about Trump’s immigration policies, the shift reflects frustrations with inflation and Democratic immigration stances.
Current polls show Democrat Abigail Spanberger leading Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears by 12 points as they compete to become Virginia’s first female governor. Voter registration for the election recently closed, with Election Day scheduled for November 4.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) joined the Conservative Political Action Conference Latino Rally for Virginia on Saturday to mobilize voters ahead of the November gubernatorial election that favors Democrat Abigail Spanberger.
The event aimed to get Virginians out to vote for “faith, family, and common-sense leadership in the 2025 elections,” with a focus on the Latino community to “protect the commonwealth from radical Left policies.”
“We have 10 days left, 10 days left to make a statement, 10 days left to get the vote out,” Youngkin said at the event. “We did it in 2021, we came together in the last few weeks of the election and on Election Day, and we made a statement that was heard around the world.”
The speakers included Youngkin, Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, Virginia Lt. Gov. candidate John Reid, and CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp.
CPAC hopes to keep the recent shift among Latinos toward the Republican Party. In 2016, Trump only received 28% of the Hispanic vote, whereas 48% voted for the president in 2024.
While Hispanic voters swung toward Trump in the last year as the Democrats faced frustrations over inflation and immigration policy, many Latinos also worry about how Trump’s use of Immigration and Customs Enforcement could affect their communities.

A Washington Post poll conducted from Oct. 16 through Oct. 20 has Spanberger with a 12-point lead over Earle-Sears, the Republican candidate who has yet to be endorsed by President Donald Trump. The two women are going head-to-head to become Virginia’s first female governor.
Voter registration for the Virginia elections closed Friday, where commonwealth voters have less than two weeks to vote as the Nov. 4 Election Day quickly approaches.
