Comer threatens Clintons with contempt of Congress if they skip Epstein-related depositions

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) threatened on Friday to hold former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress if they missed depositions related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify on Wednesday, and Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify on Thursday. Comer warned of severe consequences if the two do not show up.

“It has been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed to sit for depositions related to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes,” Comer said in a statement. “Throughout that time, the former President and former Secretary of State have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the Committee staff’s efforts to schedule their testimony.”

“If the Clintons fail to appear for their depositions next week or schedule a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable,” he added.

Comer first issued the subpoenas on Aug. 5, along with eight other people. According to a press release from Comer’s office, the Clintons appear to be “the only individuals that intend to defy these subpoenas.”

JEFFREY EPSTEIN’S RESENTMENT TOWARD DONALD TRUMP

Bill Clinton’s connections to Epstein have long been the subject of scrutiny, marking one of the highest-level friends of the disgraced financier.

Epstein shot to the top of headlines once again this year after some within President Donald Trump’s base revolted when his FBI confirmed the official story of Epstein’s suicide. Democrats have latched onto the issue in response.
