The announcement sparked concern from the Corn refiners Association,warning that replacing corn syrup with cane sugar could lead to job losses and higher imports of foreign sugar without nutritional benefits.Though, the White House responded by emphasizing support for American farmers and regulatory reforms aimed at strengthening the agriculture industry. Trump, a longtime Diet Coke fan, has actively influenced the company’s new product advancement.

The Coca-Cola Company announced Tuesday it will unveil sodas made with cane sugar in the U.S. by this fall.
This new “offering” comes after President Donald Trump disclosed alleged conversations with the beverage conglomerate about switching from corn syrup to cane sugar.
“This addition is designed to complement the company’s strong core portfolio and offer more choices across occasions and preferences,” Coca Cola said.
After Trump claimed Coca Cola “agreed” to use “REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States,” in a Truth Social post last week, panic struck the corn industry.
Corn Refiners Association President John Bode warned that “replacing high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar would cost thousands of American food manufacturing jobs, depress farm income, and boost imports of foreign sugar, all with no nutritional benefit.”
White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly disputed Bode’s prediction in a statement to the Washington Examiner.
“President Trump cares deeply about our farmers, which is why he quickly reversed course on the Biden administration’s failed policies by ending the death tax, expanding market access, unleashing American energy, cutting ten regulations for every new regulation, and more to fully empower our nation’s agriculture industry,” Kelly said.
