CMT may replace Bud Light post ‘Try That in a Small Town’ ruling.
Unraveling the Autopsy of Bud Light’s Disastrous Decision
Historians have a lot to learn from the autopsy of Bud Light’s ill-fated collaboration with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. But what makes the Bud Light boycott more effective than the Target boycott? The answer to this question spells trouble for Country Music Television (CMT), which now finds itself on the brink of a potential boycott.
CMT’s Controversial Move
CMT ignited a cultural firestorm when it decided to ban Jason Aldean’s latest music video, “Try That in a Small Town,” over baseless claims of racism. However, this move backfired spectacularly as the video soared to the top of the U.S. iTunes charts.

While this could have been the end of the story, it seems that CMT’s decision has left a lingering frustration among viewers. Entrepreneur Ted Jenkin warns that CMT may face a situation similar to Bud Light’s if they do not take responsibility for their actions.
The Backlash Against Political Agendas
Consumers are growing weary of political agendas infiltrating every aspect of their lives. Ted Jenkin believes that people are fed up with having an agenda forced upon them, especially when it comes to the products they buy and the TV they watch.
However, the success of the Bud Light boycott compared to the Target boycott is not solely due to this frustration. It also boils down to target audiences. Bud Light has always appealed to blue-collar, flyover country Americans, while Target has aligned itself with the left. This means that a boycott by a smaller percentage of conservatives would have a more significant impact on Bud Light than if all conservatives boycotted Target.
Unfortunately for CMT, this math does not bode well for them. It’s clear that they may face dire consequences if they do not reconsider their decision.
