The House Oversight Committee has set dates for former President Bill Clinton adn former Secretary of State hillary Clinton to testify in the Jeffrey Epstein examination after previously dodging subpoenas. Bill Clinton is scheduled to depose on February 27, with Hillary Clinton set for February 26; both must agree to transcribed and taped depositions with no time limits, or contempt proceedings would move forward. Committee Chair James comer said the Clintons “craved” to avoid contempt and would now appear, marking a shift from their earlier stance that the inquiry was invalid and politically motivated. The Clintons had argued the investigation was partisan in a January letter to Comer, referencing broader political issues and concerns about government overreach. Subpoenas were issued in August, and the delay through January risked potential criminal action by the DOJ. Earlier, Navarro and Bannon were sentenced for contempt after refusing to testify, and Politico suggested Democrats would likely have voted to hold the Clintons in contempt. The Clintons maintained they would fight for the country’s principles in the process.
