House Secures Dates For Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Testimonies After Couple Dodged Subpoenas

The House Oversight Committee has secured deposition dates for Bill Clinton (February 27) and hillary Clinton (the day before) in the Jeffrey Epstein probe after the couple had dodged subpoenas and faced a potential contempt vote. They set a noon deadline for agreeing to transcribed and taped depositions with no time limits, warning that contempt proceedings woudl proceed if they refused. Chairman James Comer said the Clintons “caved” and will appear for depositions, marking a shift from their previous stance that the examination was invalid and politically motivated. In January, the Clintons had issued a joint letter to Comer alleging partisan politics and criticizing government actions, invoking broader references to Trump-era immigration crackdowns and the January 6 Capitol riot. The subpoena was issued in August, with delays until January, risking criminal action by the DOJ; past cases like Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon’s contempt convictions were cited as context, and Democrats had been expected to vote to hold the Clintons in contempt as well.
