House Secures Dates For Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Testimonies After Couple Dodged Subpoenas

The House Oversight Committee has secured deposition dates for former President Bill Clinton (Feb. 27) and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (the day before) in the Jeffrey Epstein probe, after the couple previously dodged subpoenas and faced a potential contempt vote. Chairman James Comer said the Clintons “caved” and will participate in transcribed depositions with no specified time limits, with a noon deadline to agree to the terms; contempt would have proceeded if they refused. The Clintons had earlier argued the investigation was invalid and politically motivated, appealing to partisan concerns in a joint letter to Comer. The subpoena was issued in August, with delays continuing until January, when the Clintons declined to participate and risked Department of Justice action; the move contrasts with other figures like Peter navarro and Steve Bannon, who were sentenced for contempt after refusing to testify. The decision to testify represents a notable shift after months of defiance and speculation about potential Democratic votes to hold them in contempt.
