House Secures Dates For Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Testimonies After Couple Dodged Subpoenas

The House Oversight Committee has secured deposition dates for former president bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton in the Jeffrey Epstein probe after the couple dodged subpoenas and faced a looming contempt vote. Bill Clinton is set to testify on February 27, with Hillary Clinton appearing the day earlier; both were given a noon deadline to agree to transcribed and taped depositions, with no time limits, and the committee saeid contempt proceedings would proceed if they refused to comply.

The Clintons’ decision to participate marks a dramatic shift from their January stance that the investigation was invalid and politically motivated. In a January 13 letter to Congressman Comer, they argued the inquiry reflected partisan politics and cited concerns about government actions, invoking parallels to actions taken during the Trump era and the January 6 Capitol riot. The subpoena, issued in August, forced months of delay before the Clintons agreed to participate,a stance that drew comparisons to other figures like Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, who were sentenced for contempt after refusing to testify. The Clintons framed their eventual participation as a principled decision, saying they would fight for the country and its values while choosing to appear.
