House Secures Dates For Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Testimonies After Couple Dodged Subpoenas

The House Oversight Committee has set deposition dates for former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Jeffrey Epstein probe after they initially dodged subpoenas and faced a potential contempt vote. Bill is due to testify on February 27 and Hillary the day before, with a noon deadline for agreeing to transcribed and taped depositions and no time limits; noncompliance would trigger contempt proceedings. Committee Chair James Comer said the Clintons “caved” and will appear, a shift from their previous claim that the examination was invalid and politically motivated. The Clintons had earlier argued the probe was partisan, citing concerns about government actions and referencing President Trump and January 6 as part of their defiant letter to Comer. The subpoenas were issued in August after delays, and the article notes that Democrats were expected to vote on contempt if the Clintons refused to testify, in a context that also includes prior contempt sentences for Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon.
