House Secures Dates For Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Testimonies After Couple Dodged Subpoenas

The House Oversight Commitee has scheduled deposition dates for Bill Clinton (Feb. 27) and Hillary Clinton (the day before) in the Jeffrey Epstein probe after the couple had dodged subpoenas and faced a potential contempt vote. The committee gave them a noon deadline to agree to transcribed and taped depositions with no time limits; noncompliance could lead to contempt proceedings. Committee chair James Comer said the Clintons “caved” and will appear, noting they had delayed for months. The clintons had previously argued the investigation was invalid and politically motivated, signing a January letter to Comer that cited partisan motives and references to actions by Donald Trump and the Jan.6 Capitol riot. The report also mentions earlier contempt outcomes for Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon and suggests Democrats could have voted to hold the Clintons in contempt; the Clintons’ letter framed their decision as a stance to fight for the country and its principles.
