House Secures Dates For Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein Testimonies After Couple Dodged Subpoenas

The House Oversight Committee has set dates for Bill Clinton to testify on February 27 and for Hillary Clinton to testify the day before, in the Jeffrey Epstein probe, after the couple dodged subpoenas and faced a looming contempt vote. The committee gave them a noon deadline to participate in transcribed and taped depositions with no time limits; non-compliance woudl lead to contempt of Congress. Committee chair james Comer saeid the Clintons “completely CAVED” and would appear, following months of delay. this marks a sharp shift from their earlier position that the inquiry was invalid and politically motivated. In January, the Clintons argued the probe was partisan in a joint letter to Comer. The subpoenas were issued in August, and their reluctance to participate for several months risked criminal action by the Department of Justice. The report notes that Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon were previously sentenced for contempt after refusing to testify, and Politico suggested Democrats would likely vote to hold the Clintons in contempt. The Clintons framed their decision to participate as standing up for the country and its principles, saying they had waited long enough to fight for what they believe.
