Schumer: Americans Uninterested in Biden Investigations

Chuck Schumer Claims Average Americans Aren’t Concerned with Biden Family Investigations

Senate Majority Leader Chuck ‌Schumer (D-NY) claimed on Wednesday that “average Americans” were⁣ not particularly concerned with the ‌ongoing investigations into members of President Joe Biden’s family.

Schumer joined ‍hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika ‌Brzezinski on MSNBC’s‌ “Morning Joe” to tout Biden’s signature Inflation Reduction Act on the ‍one-year anniversary ⁤of the president signing ‌it into law — and the conversation turned instead to the latest slate of indictments filed against‍ former President Donald Trump and⁤ Republican investigations into the Biden family.

“We’re investing, they ‌are ⁣investigating. All they seem to do is⁣ want‌ to⁤ investigate this, that, and the other‍ thing,” Schumer complained about his Republican⁤ counterparts. “That doesn’t help the American ⁣people. The contrast of yesterday, a former president being indicted for trying to deny an election, and this president today⁢ talking about ‌investing in⁣ America, that’s ⁤going to sink in. It’s our job to make sure it⁤ sinks in.”

Scarborough, a⁤ former ⁤Republican,⁢ weighed ‍in on the ⁢investigations currently being pursued ⁢by⁣ his ex-party. “I mean, their investigations are so stupid I am embarrassed for them. They are talking to ⁢arms dealers and people ⁢that illegally ⁢smuggle oil to the Communist Chinese Party. They ‌talk about tapes and the FBI. ⁤Grassley gives up the‍ game and says we don’t care if he’s guilty or not. I could go down the ⁣list,” ⁤he said.

“These investigations don’t matter to‍ the average American people,” Schumer continued, arguing that ⁤it was all partisan and no substance. “This is ⁢the right-wing, the⁢ hard right-wing talking to each other. ‍Let ⁣them keep talking to each ⁤other. We’re⁤ talking ‍to‍ the‌ American people.”

Neither Schumer ‌nor Scarborough made any mention ‍of the ‍fact that while Donald Trump ‍was still in office, the Democrats had spent four years investigating everything Trump did or said — ‍from potential emoluments clause violations‍ to Ukraine phone⁤ calls; ⁣from allegations ⁢of Russian collusion to‌ January⁤ 6th — and they had continued to‍ investigate him in the years after he left office.
