Carlos Santana Takes The Stage Once Again After Canceling Tour Dates Following Collapse

Legendary rocker Carlos Santana resumed his tour after he was forced to cancel and postpone several dates following his collapse on stage during a show in Michigan in July.

The 75-year-old guitarist was once again entertaining fans at a show in Connecticut on Friday and later at the Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island, New York, Page Six reported.

Santana made headlines last month after he suddenly passed out while performing in Clarkston, a suburb of Detroit, at the Pine Knob Music Festival on July 5 after reportedly suffering from a “serious medical issue,” as The Daily Wire previously reported.

A video later surfaced on Twitter showing the performer waving to fans as he was being taken off the stage on what appeared to be a gurney. His condition was unclear, as a giant black sheet was held in front of him as he was removed.

The Michigan show was part of the veteran guitarist’s summer-long “Miraculous Supernatural 2022” tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, which kicked off in June and runs through August.

Last month, the singer’s rep said several dates would be rescheduled “out of an abundance of caution for [his] health.”

“I regret to inform you that the Santana band has postponed tonight’s show at Ruoff Music Center Noblesville, Indiana,” the statement read.  “And, we are postponing the July 9 show at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio; July 10 at American Family Insurance Amphitheater – Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; July 12 at Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion in Rogers, Arkansas; July 15 at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas; July 16 at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas.”

“Doctors have recommended that Mr. Santana gets rest to recuperate fully,” the statement added. “Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs rest.”

His wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, also shared an update with fans that he was suffering from “heat exhaustion & dehydration” but was “resting and doing very well.”

“The Black Magic Woman” hitmaker underwent what his management called an “unscheduled” heart procedure last year.

He ended up canceling the remainder of his shows in Las Vegas in December, but he later announced the resumption of his residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay the following month.
