Despite leaving LA, she now resides in Northern California. Additionally, she touched on her new film, “Unsung Hero,” in discussions.

Actress Candace Cameron Bure said she and her family left Los Angeles, California, due to safety concerns, citing “quite a few problems” that they had in the past.

The Great American Family actress revealed on social media last month that she had moved out of Los Angeles, and explained in a new interview that the safety of herself and her family was the main reason for the move. Bure stated that “not everyone in Hollywood lives behind guard gates,” and that some people, including her fans, would come up to her house’s door.

“And it’s amazing what people feel they can do, and wanting to be a part of your life in some way,” Bure said to Fox News Digital. “Some of it’s innocent, some of it wasn’t, but it’s quite unnerving when you’re just trying to be a person and live life, and you don’t know what’s around the corner. So we didn’t feel safe anymore, and that was the biggest reason we moved.”

While the Full House actress has left Los Angeles, she said that various stories stating that she moved out of California are false, and is instead living in the northern parts of the state.

Bure also discussed her new movie Unsung Hero, which is releasing on Wednesday and details the true story of the Smallbone family and their move from Australia to the United States before their rise to stardom in the Christian music industry. Bure plays the role of Kay Albright, the neighbor of the Smallbone family, with Bure describing Albright as “an answer to a lot of prayers for the Smallbone family.”

“I want to be more like Kay in life,” she continued. “I hope that I am, but I’m like, ‘I want to be even more like her.’ So she was really inspiring.”

Bure has promoted the film on her Facebook page, where she revealed how a person can get up to four free tickets to see the film from Wednesday through Sunday. To get these free tickets, a person needs to enter the code “HEROFREE” when reserving them on the movie ticket website Atom Tickets.

The actress leaving Los Angeles comes a few months after her daughter, Natasha, left Hollywood to move to Texas. Bure’s daughter described the move as the first time “I’m ever officially living by myself” and that it is a chance for her to “go and get out of my comfort zone.”

In April 2022, Bure revealed that she would be leaving the Hallmark Channel to instead work on films for Great American Family, considered by many to be a conservative alternative to Hallmark. Beyond starring in various Christmas films for the network, Bure is starting a new mystery film series that is set to release in September.
