California Officials Deceive on Election Security, Unveil America’s First ‘Transgender’ Voting Center
California Officials Use Debunked Election Lies to Justify Transgender Voting Center
Empowering the Transgender Community in Los Angeles
California officials employed debunked Democrat election lies to justify designating a Los Angeles-based “transgender empowerment” facility as a vote center for the state’s 2024 primary elections.
During a Thursday press conference, California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and L.A. City Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, both Democrats, revealed the Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center (CONOTEC) will serve as one of Los Angeles County’s vote centers during the Golden State’s primary elections this month. While this “first-of-its-kind voting center in the nation” will “accommodate” all voters, the facility specifically caters to transgender-identifying individuals, according to KNX News.
“The opening of the nation’s first transgender voting center today in Los Angeles marks a significant milestone in our efforts to champion equity, inclusivity, and LGBTQA+ rights in California,” Kounalakis claimed.
Kounalakis and Yaroslavsky were joined in the unveiling by cross-dressers Victoria Ortega and Chela Demuir of FLUX and the Unique Woman’s Coalition. According to its website, FLUX utilizes social events and develops so-called “safe spaces” and “innovative advocacy initiatives” to “raise the profile” of LGBT-identifying individuals. UWC aims to create “the next generation of black trans leadership from within the community through mentorship, scholarship, and community care engagement work.”
During her remarks, Yaroslavsky couldn’t help but regurgitate her party’s unsubstantiated lie that Republican-backed election integrity measures — such as voter ID and returning mail-in balloting laws to what they were before the 2020 Covid lockdowns — suppress votes.
“As state legislatures across the country try to make it harder and harder to vote, imposing draconian voter ID laws, eliminating early and mail-in voting, and limiting voting hours,” Los Angeles and California “must be the light in all that darkness,” the Democrat councilwoman said in hyperbolic fashion.
Ortega echoed those sentiments, baselessly claiming trans-identifying people “are intimidated when we go and cast our vote.”
Contrary to Yaroslavsky’s assertion, there is no evidence any of the election policies Republicans have proposed make it difficult for citizens to vote. Courts in New Hampshire and Ohio, for example, recently struck down bogus Democrat-backed lawsuits challenging the states’ voter ID laws, dismissing leftist claims these policies “suppress” demographics likely to support Democrats.
Equally revealing is that the vast majority of voters — including those who are black and Hispanic — support commonsense election provisions like voter ID requirements and ensuring only U.S. citizens can vote in American elections. Polling has also shown strong support for bans on unsecure policies such as ballot harvesting and limits on mail-in voting.

How do voter ID laws and restrictions on mail-in voting contribute to the suppression of votes?
Mentioned, such as voter ID laws and restrictions on mail-in voting, suppress votes. These measures are essential for maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that every vote counts.
The decision to designate the Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center (CONOTEC) as a vote center raises concerns about the politicization of election venues. While it is important to create inclusive spaces for all individuals, it is equally important to maintain neutrality and fairness in the voting process. By specifically catering to transgender-identifying individuals, CONOTEC may unintentionally create an environment that favors a particular group, potentially compromising the integrity of the election.
Furthermore, the use of debunked Democrat election lies to justify the designation of CONOTEC as a vote center is concerning. It is essential that decisions regarding election venues and processes are based on factual information and unbiased analysis. Spreading false information undermines the trust and confidence that citizens have in their electoral systems.
It is also worth noting the participation of individuals from organizations such as FLUX and the Unique Woman’s Coalition in the unveiling of CONOTEC as a vote center. While these organizations may be dedicated to empowering and supporting the transgender community, their involvement in the political process raises questions about the neutrality and fairness of the election venue.
In order to ensure the integrity and fairness of elections, it is crucial that decisions regarding voting centers are made based on neutral criteria that prioritize equal access to all eligible voters. Political agendas should not be intertwined with the administration of elections, as this can erode public trust and confidence in the democratic process.
As California officials move forward with their plans for the 2024 primary elections, it is imperative that they reevaluate the designation of CONOTEC as a vote center and ensure that all decisions regarding election venues are made with the utmost transparency, neutrality, and consideration for the integrity of the electoral process. Only by upholding these principles can we maintain the trust and confidence in our democracy that is essential for its continued success.
