Byron York says Democrats haven’t found ‘Holy Grail’ of evidence connecting Trump to Epstein

Washington Examiner Chief Political Correspondent Byron York suggested that President Donald Trump’s political opponents are still trying to find evidence related to Jeffrey Epstein “that they can use against” the president.

On Tuesday, the House and the Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill to release more files regarding Epstein, the late convicted sex trafficker, from the Department of Justice. Trump is expected to sign the resolution.

“There’s a lot of speculation about what it will actually mean in terms of what documents the Justice Department will produce,” York said on the Hugh Hewitt Show Tuesday. “We do know that we have a ton of stuff about Jeffrey Epstein that’s in the public eye already.”

“We have flight logs. We have all sorts of personal records from him. We have lots of information,” York added. “And none of it has provided Democrats that holy grail that they can use against Donald Trump, but that obviously hasn’t stopped them from trying.”

While no senators opposed the matter, only Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted against the bill in the House. Higgins condemned the resolution because it “reveals and injures thousands of innocent people – witnesses, people who provided alibis, family members, etc.”

Over the weekend, Trump welcomed the release of the files, writing on Truth Social Sunday, “we have nothing to hide.”

“[I]t’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“The Department of Justice has already turned over tens of thousands of pages to the Public on “Epstein,” and are looking at various Democrat operatives (Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, Larry Summers, etc.) and their relationship to Epstein, and the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DON’T CARE!”

THEY KNEW EPSTEIN WAS GUILTY OF TRAFFICKING UNDERAGE GIRLS. THEY STUCK WITH HIM ANYWAY. EXCEPT TRUMP

Last week, the White House lobbied Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Nancy Mace (R-SC), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to change their votes on the discharge petition to force the House to vote on releasing the files.

The DOJ confirmed that Epstein committed suicide in his prison cell in 2019, and denied he had a client list earlier this year.
