Bruce Springsteen cancels concert last minute.
Bruce Springsteen Cancels Concert Due to Illness
The highly anticipated concert of legendary singer Bruce Springsteen at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia was abruptly canceled just hours before showtime. Springsteen, known for his iconic hits like “Born In the U.S.A.,” took to his X account to inform his 1.3 million followers that he had fallen ill and would be postponing not only the August 16 show but also another scheduled for Friday as part of the “Springsteen & E Street Band 2023 Tour.”
Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed.

Springsteen assured fans that efforts were underway to reschedule the concerts and advised them to hold on to their tickets, as they would still be valid for the rescheduled shows. However, no further details regarding the nature of Springsteen’s illness or the new concert dates were provided on his social media accounts.
The announcement was made around 2 p.m., just a few hours before the scheduled start time of 7:30 p.m. This sudden cancellation left fans who had traveled from far and wide disappointed, as they expressed their frustration on social media.

One disappointed fan wrote, “Flew all the way from Sweden to see this concert.” Another expressed sympathy, saying, “Sorry to hear about Bruce being ill, that sux!” Meanwhile, a concerned ticket holder from London questioned the refund process, stating, “But when and how are refund details going to be available? I am in town from London (UK) and have 6 tix to Friday’s Bruce show, how do I get my $2K+ back?”
Springsteen’s next scheduled tour date is on August 24, 2023, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, according to his official website. This tour, which began in February in Florida, has already faced setbacks earlier this year when Springsteen had to postpone shows due to another undisclosed illness. Albany, New York; Columbus, Ohio; and Uncasville, Connecticut were among the affected cities.
The tour is expected to conclude in December in San Francisco, with several stops in Canada, Arizona, and throughout California.
