Britney Spears shares on social media amidst divorce rumors: ‘Getting a horse soon!’
Pop star Britney Spears made her first public post on social media following rumors that she’s splitting from Sam Asghari, her husband of one year.
“Buying a horse soon !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar??? I can’t make up my mind!!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar !!!” the “Toxic” singer shared with her 42 million followers on Instagram.
Spears added a photo of herself on horseback at the beach and notably had comments turned off.

Prior to the post, multiple outlets reported that Asghari had filed for divorce from Spears, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Reps for both parties had declined to publicly comment as of Thursday morning.
Previously, the singer was married to childhood friend Jason Alexander in January 2004 and had the marriage annulled 55 hours later. Spears wed former backup dancer Kevin Federline later that year. They share sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16. Federline and Spears split in 2007.
Asghari is an Iranian-born model who met Spears on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2017, per People. They wed in June 2022.
The singer’s fans have become increasingly concerned for her as she’s been posting erratic videos and messages on social media, then deleting and reinstating her account. Spears had been under a conservatorship led by her now estranged father, Jamie Spears, for 14 years. She was released from the arrangement in November 2021.
Rumors of trouble in Spears and Asghari’s marriage have been circulating for some time. The documentary “TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears, The Price of Freedom” included sources who claimed Spears would become physically abusive toward her husband at times. The sources also said Asghari didn’t often sleep at home.
Asghari, 29, took to social media at the time to say all the rumors were “lies.” He also chastised everyone who participated in interviews for the expose.
“I found it absolutely disgusting that people that were in her life at the time, when she didn’t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs. It was absolutely disgusting,” he said in a video posted to Instagram stories in May.
Asghari went on: “How are you gonna take the most influential person of our generation, the princess of pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison where her father tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see, and use her as a money-making machine?”
“Then, all the sudden, after 15 years when she’s free, after all those gaslighting and after all those things that went down, how are you gonna put her under a microscope and tell her story? No. That’s also disgusting.”
