Britney Spears Accidentally Hits Herself in the Face During Incident with NBA Rookie
Authorities revealed on Friday that pop singer Britney Spears found herself in an unexpected situation involving San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama. The incident led Spears to file a police report, claiming she had been assaulted by a security guard.
The Associated Press reported that according to Las Vegas police, Spears “inadvertently hit herself in the face after her hand was pushed off Wembanyama.” A video captured by a bystander shows Spears approaching Wembanyama, the top pick in the recent NBA draft, to tap him on the shoulder. However, a member of his security forcefully flung his arm back, causing Spears’ hand to hit her own face.

Following the incident, Spears promptly filed a police report. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the 41-year-old singer spotted Wembanyama, the Spurs’ power forward, at Catch restaurant in the Aria Hotel.
On Friday, the police announced that no charges would be filed against the security guard, as they determined that he had simply brushed Spears’ hand away from Wembanyama.
Wembanyama, the French basketball player, stated that there were numerous people present in the restaurant when the incident took place.
“So people were obviously calling me, but we had already discussed with security not to stop because it would create a crowd. So I couldn’t stop,” he explained. “And then someone grabbed me from behind. I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight, but that person grabbed me from behind.”

“I only know that the security pushed her away, but I don’t know with how much force,” Wembanyama added.
In response to Wembanyama’s statements, Spears took to Instagram, describing the incident as a “traumatic experience.”
“I was not prepared for what happened to me last night,” she shared. “I saw an athlete in the hotel lobby and decided to approach him to congratulate him on his success. It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.”
“I am aware of the player’s statement where he mentions ‘I grabbed him from behind,’ but I simply tapped him on the shoulder,” Spears continued. “However, his security then backhanded me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd. It nearly knocked me down and caused my glasses to fall off.”
Spears mentioned that she often gets swarmed by fans but emphasized that her security never resorts to violence against them.
She acknowledged that sharing this story was “super embarrassing,” but stressed the importance of public figures setting a positive example by treating everyone with respect.
“Physical violence is happening too much in this world, often behind closed doors,” Spears expressed. “I stand with all the victims, and my heart goes out to all of you!!! I have yet to receive a public apology from the player, his security, or their organization. I hope they will.”
