BREAKING: Georgia Election Case Against Trump, Allies Sees 10 Indictments.

Grand Jury Returns 10 Indictments ⁣in Criminal Investigation into Trump’s‍ Alleged Election Interference

A Fulton County, Georgia, grand jury made a significant move on Monday night,⁣ returning 10 indictments in the criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Fulton County District⁢ Attorney ⁤Fani Willis is believed to have pursued charging individuals under⁤ Georgia’s RICO Act, which ‍allows prosecutors to⁢ “string together crimes committed by different people toward ⁢one common goal,” as reported by Axios. This strategy poses ⁣a challenge for defense⁤ attorneys, as it makes it difficult to implement a “coherent trial strategy.”

The report also ‌highlights that the lengthy ‌prison sentences associated with RICO violations serve as a major incentive⁣ for co-defendants to seek‌ deals⁤ in exchange ⁢for new evidence.

It is worth noting that in Georgia, the governor does⁢ not possess the power ⁤to‌ pardon convicts. Instead, that authority rests with a⁤ Board of Pardons and Paroles, which requires a sentence to be completed at‍ least⁤ five years prior to⁤ applying for a pardon. Therefore, even a U.S. president would not be‍ able ⁤to pardon Trump in this⁣ case.

Furthermore, the case has the⁤ potential to be broadcast on‍ television, allowing the public to witness ‍all the evidence being presented.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported that the grand jury had chosen to move forward with every indictment presented by⁣ the district attorney’s team. Collins stated, “The paperwork indicates ⁤the grand jury ⁣didn’t vote against any of the indictments‌ presented by the district attorney’s team.”
