Border Patrol Seizes 42 Illegal Immigrants Hidden in Texas Motel
United States Border Patrol agents made a dramatic discovery when they uncovered a group of 42 illegal immigrants who had been smuggled into the country and hidden in a motel in Texas.
The incident took place on the eastern side of El Paso on Friday, after agents from the Ysleta Station Anti-Smuggling Unit received a tip about a stash house. Acting swiftly, they arrived at the location and encountered a large group of immigrants, hailing from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.
Among the illegal immigrants were seven unaccompanied minors from Mexico. Thankfully, after undergoing medical screening, all were found to be in good health.
Out of the 42 immigrants, 27 were voluntarily returned to Mexico, while three were prosecuted for conspiracy to transport under Title 8 U.S.C. 1324. Additionally, one individual was prosecuted for a prior order of removal under Title 8 U.S.C. 1326.
The remaining immigrants, including the minors, were taken to the El Paso Hardened Facility for processing.
“Whether using motel rooms, houses, or other locations, stash houses amount to nothing more than warehouses for smugglers to store their commodities,” Border Patrol stated on social media. ”Their conditions are never good for the migrants or the communities.”
