FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said on Saturday he was “shocked” over recent discoveries in unspecified FBI investigations, vowing to soon reveal “the truth” about what was found.
In a Saturday statement, Bongino alluded to investigations into corruption and political weaponization, while casting dire warnings about the state of the country based on what has been discovered by him and FBI Director Kash Patel so far.
“The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations. It is a priority for us. But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned,” Bongino said.
Bongino added that the “righteous and proper” investigations would continue, teasing more details to come in the future.
“We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. Not ‘my truth,’ or ‘your truth,’ but THE TRUTH,” the FBI deputy director said.
While Bongino did not touch on any specifics about the investigations, his statement comes as newly declassified records into the Trump-Russia investigation have shown how top Obama administration officials advanced the discredited collusion narrative during the 2016 election.
New reports have also revealed how around the same time, the FBI did not analyze key evidence in its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. That evidence, which included thumb drives containing hacked State Department data, were deemed too sensitive to be reviewed at the time, despite an FBI memo recommending analyzing the material to “assess the national security risks” tied to Clinton’s private server.
As new records continue to be released, criminal charges may be coming as evidence is referred to the Department of Justice and FBI.

Regarding the Trump-Russia collusion narrative, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard confirmed that she has referred former President Barack Obama and several of his top aides to the DOJ for criminal prosecution.
“We can show the truth, reveal the truth. The accountability needs to occur to be able to start to restore that trust in the integrity of our democracy,” Gabbard said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
