Secretary of State Antony Blinken is heading to ⁢Israel this week to show​ his unwavering support for the country ‍in its fight against Hamas ⁣terrorists.

Blinken is ‌scheduled to meet with senior Israeli officials and express his condolences for the victims of ⁢the ⁣terrorist attacks against Israel. He will strongly condemn these attacks,” according to a statement from his office on Tuesday, which ⁤was confirmed ⁣by the State Department.

“There’s no justification for terrorism. There’s no excuse,” he ‍concluded.

Since Saturday, over 1,000 Israelis have been killed in the Hamas terrorist group’s surprise invasion of southern Israel ‍by land, sea, and air.​ Hamas ‌has also taken more than 150 hostages and reportedly murdered⁣ hundreds of civilians, including children.

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan​ announced on‌ Tuesday⁣ that U.S. officials‌ believe‍ there are⁢ now at least 20 American ⁤citizens who are missing.

Defense Secretary ‍Lloyd Austin revealed on ⁣Sunday that the USS⁣ Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group would be ⁤relocating to ⁢the Eastern Mediterranean to strengthen regional‌ deterrence.
