Bill Russell’s Hall of Fame ring expected to fetch $250,000 at auction

Bill Russell’s ring from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is expected to fetch up to $250,000 at auction.

The ring belonging to the late Boston Celtics great is up for auction through SCP Auctions, according to reports, and is being sold along with other items in Russell’s personal collection.

Its design appears to be as grand as Russell’s career.

The ring features the Basketball Hall of Fame spire on a bed of diamonds with another diamond set on the spire’s apex, a report noted.

Russell’s ring is in good condition, and it comes with its initial presentation box.

Over the course of his career, Russell won a total of 11 Championships.

He won nine as a player and two as a coach.

In 1975, he became the first black player to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

He did not attend his induction ceremony and finally accepted his ring in 2019.

The basketball star died in July at the age of 88.
