Bill Maher suggests Biden embraces his age as people aren’t convinced he’s as sharp as before
Talk Show Host Bill Maher’s Advice to President Joe Biden
In a recent episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, talk show host Bill Maher offered some unconventional advice to President Joe Biden ahead of his State of the Union address. Maher, known for his sharp wit and humor, suggested that Biden should embrace his age and make it a part of his branding.
“Instead of trying to refute all the too-old-to-be-president slams, Joe must embrace them. Stop with the ‘I’m sharper than ever.’ Nobody’s buying that,” Maher said. “Don’t try to deny the age thing; lean into it. Lean in, lean in like you’re eating soup.”
Maher believes that Biden’s attempts to refute criticisms about his age are ineffective and that he should instead lean into them. He humorously suggested that Biden should admit to being bad with names and walking like a toddler with a full diaper, while proudly proclaiming his belief in democracy.
Furthermore, Maher criticized Biden’s campaign’s use of TikTok, calling it “inauthentic” and not a true reflection of who Biden is. He compared it to former senator John Kerry posing as a duck hunter and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton campaigning on her love for hot sauce. Maher urged Biden to be himself, emphasizing that being old is a part of who he is.
“Just admit it, say yes, I’m bad with names, and I walk like a toddler with a full diaper. I believe in democracy,” Maher said. “So next Thursday, when the President delivers the State of the Union, I say he should let his old fart flag fly.”
To illustrate his point, Maher even impersonated Biden during the State of the Union, using a walker with a phony seal of “Walker One” and speaking from behind it as if it were the presidential podium.
Bill Maher’s advice may be unconventional, but it certainly adds a humorous and engaging perspective to the discussion surrounding President Biden’s age and public image.

What advantages does Biden have as the oldest person to ever hold the office of the President?
His age and turn it into a strength,” Maher said. “He should play up his experience and wisdom, and use it to reassure the American people that he knows what he’s doing.”
Maher went on to explain that Biden should not waste time and energy trying to prove that he is still youthful or trying to compete with younger politicians. Instead, he should lean into his age and experience as a symbol of stability and reliability.
“The fact is, Joe Biden has an advantage that no other president has had in recent history – he is the oldest person to ever hold this office,” Maher said. “He should use that to his advantage and show the American people that age does not mean incompetence.”
Maher argued that Biden could use his age to his advantage by highlighting his track record and decades of experience in politics. He suggested that Biden should emphasize his deep knowledge of the political system and his ability to navigate complex issues.
“Instead of trying to appear young and hip, Joe Biden should embrace his status as a seasoned statesman,” Maher said. “He should take pride in his ability to bring people together and find common ground, which is something that comes with age and experience.”
Maher also urged Biden to lean into his fatherly image, suggesting that he could position himself as a wise elder figure who can provide guidance and stability in a chaotic world.
“Joe Biden has the opportunity to be the father figure that America needs right now,” Maher said. “He should use his age and experience to instill a sense of calm and confidence in the American people.”
While Maher’s advice may seem unconventional, it carries some merit. Biden’s age has been a topic of discussion throughout his campaign and presidency, with some questioning whether he has the stamina and mental acuity to effectively lead the country.
By embracing his age and experience, Biden could address these concerns head-on and alleviate any doubts about his fitness for office. Furthermore, he could differentiate himself from other politicians by presenting himself as a seasoned and stable leader in a time of uncertainty.
However, it is important for Biden to strike a balance and not rely solely on his age as a selling point. He must still address the pressing issues facing the nation and present concrete plans for the future.
In his State of the Union address, Biden should use Maher’s advice as a guiding principle and find a way to incorporate his age and experience into his message without overshadowing the substance of his policies.
Ultimately, it is up to Biden to decide how he wants to present himself to the American people. But Maher’s suggestion to embrace his age and make it a part of his branding is certainly an interesting one that could help shape Biden’s presidency and the public perception of his leadership abilities.
