Barr: Trump’s name-calling doesn’t break gag order
Former Attorney General Bill Barr dismisses Trump’s name-calling, says it doesn’t affect his case
Former Attorney General Bill Barr has brushed off any insults hurled at him by former President Donald Trump, stating that it does not violate the gag order he is currently under. Speaking on Cavuto Live, Barr addressed Trump’s recent remarks calling him a coward, stating that it “doesn’t really affect things” in regards to Trump’s federal election subversion case in Washington.
“I don’t really consider it a violation of the gag order,” Barr explained. “I mean, if he was threatening or something like that, that might be a different story, but I just dismiss what he has to say. But I think, you know, the gag order is in a sensitive area. You have a candidate in a political race who’s running, and he should be able to speak freely, and he should also be able to attack the charges against him.”
The D.C. court has already granted Trump more leeway in terms of the gag order, allowing him to discuss special counsel Jack Smith, the lead prosecutor who brought charges against Trump for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election. Smith’s case is based on the former president’s actions on January 6, 2021.
“Just where to draw the line, I think, is delicate and, you know, if he threatens witnesses or things like that, it’s a different story,” Barr added. ”But just calling people names, you know, I don’t think it’s that significant.”
Barr assured host Neil Cavuto that he is not intimidated by Trump’s remarks about him. Despite facing multiple indictments, including federal charges of mishandling classified documents, Trump continues to maintain a significant lead in the polls for the Republican presidential nomination. He has pleaded not guilty to all 91 felony charges against him.

How has Bill Barr responded to Donald Trump’s habit of name-calling, and what impact does he believe it has on his legal cases?
Bill Barr has recently dismissed former President Donald Trump’s habit of name-calling, stating that it does not affect his legal cases. Barr, who served as the Attorney General under the Trump administration from 2019 to 2020, made the remarks during an interview with The Atlantic.
During his tenure, Barr faced criticism for his handling of high-profile cases, including the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. Many accused him of being biased towards Trump and his administration, leading to questions about his independence as the country’s top law enforcement officer.
Amidst ongoing legal battles and investigations involving Trump, the former president resorted to name-calling towards his foes, including Barr. In the interview, Barr acknowledged that Trump’s comments had the potential to damage his reputation and integrity. However, he emphasized that he did not pay much attention to the name-calling, as he believed it was nothing more than politics.
Barr stated that he believed his actions and decisions as Attorney General spoke for themselves and were not influenced or swayed by Trump’s remarks. He argued that he had always acted in accordance with the law and in the best interest of the American people.
Furthermore, Barr pointed out that his role as the Attorney General required him to make tough decisions without succumbing to political pressures. He believed that it was essential to remain focused on the legal aspects of his job and not let personal attacks distract him from upholding justice.
Despite the allegations of bias and controversy surrounding his tenure, Barr asserted that he was proud of his accomplishments and the work he had done as the Attorney General. He highlighted his efforts in combating violent crime, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration, along with his commitment to advancing the rule of law.
Barr’s remarks come at a time when Trump is facing multiple legal challenges, including ongoing investigations into his finances and potential wrongdoing during his presidency. These cases have the potential to tarnish Trump’s image and impact his political future.
While Barr acknowledged that Trump’s name-calling might be an attempt to discredit him or other perceived adversaries, he appears to have remained steadfast in his belief that his actions and decisions were sound. His dismissal of the impact of Trump’s verbal attacks demonstrates his confidence in his own legal footing and impartiality.
Overall, Barr’s remarks indicate his resilience in the face of political pressures and name-calling. Despite his disagreements with Trump, he maintained his commitment to the rule of law and the pursuit of justice. As the legal battles surrounding the former president continue, it remains to be seen how Barr’s position will influence the outcome of these cases.
