Biden’s ‘War Room’ forms ahead of looming impeachment inquiry.

The White House is‍ gearing up for a potential impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden over‌ allegations of corruption.

A team of lawyers, legislative aides, and communications ‍staff has been assembled to form a “war room” to combat GOP investigations,⁣ according to recent reports. While preparations for Biden’s defense have been underway since Republicans gained control of the House earlier this year, the latest reports from POLITICO and‌ NBC News highlight the growing roster as lawmakers hint at the possibility of an impeachment process and the⁤ 2024 election cycle heats up.

The team includes defense attorney Richard Sauber, Russ Anello, former staff director of the House Oversight Committee, and former Building Back Together spokeswoman Sharon ⁢Yang. Incoming White House counsel Ed Siskel, who has experience dealing with GOP⁤ investigations, will also be part of the effort.

White House spokesman Ian Sams has ⁢already been firing back at Republicans who support impeachment. In response to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) warning that she would not vote to fund the ⁤government unless certain demands, including impeachment, are met, Sams called it a “partisan stunt”⁤ driven by far-right members.

House Republicans have uncovered a pattern of foreign money flowing to Biden’s family, raising concerns of bribery and influence peddling. Biden has dismissed the corruption allegations as “malarkey,” while his Democrat allies focus on charges against Donald Trump. Both Biden and Trump are seeking a second term.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently told Breitbart News that an impeachment inquiry would require a floor vote, in contrast to how ‌former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced the first impeachment effort against Trump.

However, McCarthy faces challenges as a rules package allows just one member to bring a “motion to vacate” that could lead to a vote to remove‌ the speaker.

A formal vote⁤ to launch an inquiry could face opposition from vulnerable GOP lawmakers,⁣ while Democrats are likely to ‌support Biden. The House Freedom Caucus, ‍including Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), has warned that focusing on impeachment ‍without addressing spending issues would not be‌ favorable.

According to a Wall Street Journal poll released on Monday, 52% of voters oppose impeaching‍ Biden, while 41% support it. Even if an inquiry is launched, there are further hurdles in the House and Senate to convict Biden.

Nevertheless, McCarthy told Fox News ⁤that the American public deserves to know if the Biden family is involved in corruption. An impeachment inquiry would provide Congress with the legal power to gather all⁢ the necessary information.
