Biden’s FBI Spying On Political Enemies Is Weaponization

the article discusses recent revelations that the FBI under President Joe Biden conducted political surveillance on nine Republican members of Congress, including Senator Ron johnson of Wisconsin. An internal FBI document, released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, shows that the agency collected “tolling data” (phone call logs) from the lawmakers’ personal cell phones during early January 2021 as part of the covert “Arctic Frost” inquiry. This probe is linked to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s politically charged investigation into former President donald Trump’s challenges to the 2020 election results.

Senator Johnson and Grassley describe the FBI’s actions as a disturbing example of government weaponization, worse than Watergate, targeting Republicans to undermine their political efforts. Johnson criticized the deep state and the media for misleading the public and defended efforts by the Trump Justice Department to hold corrupt officials accountable. The article frames the Biden FBI’s surveillance as part of a broader pattern of politically motivated interference, contrasting it with claims that Trump weaponized the government against his opponents.

The left is struggling with the language. They’re mixing up definitions. They confuse equality with “equity,” think riots are mostly peaceful protests, and call accountability “weaponization.”

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., can set them straight.

Wisconsin’s senior senator is one of nine Republican members of Congress that President Joe Biden’s FBI spied on, according to a bombshell internal agency document obtained and released this week by by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

The document shows the corrupt Federal Bureau of Investigation targeted the lawmakers’ personal cell phones for “tolling data.” The covert operation was part of the FBI’s Arctic Frost investigation — the basis for Special Counsel Jack Smith’s politically-driven probe into President Donald Trump’s challenges to the rigged 2020 election. Smith would go on to charge Trump in August 2023, part of the Democrats’ barrage campaign to lock up and take out the 45th president and leading Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential contest.

Grassley said the mounting evidence against federal law enforcement under Biden suggests Arctic Frost was “worse than Watergate.”

This is what weaponization looks like.

“Communist China could only dream to do a fraction of the damage and the interference that this cast of characters have done,” Johnson told me Thursday in an interview on the WHO Morning Show in Des Moines, Iowa. The lineup included the disgraced deep state players who led the Russia collusion hoax, the corrupt Crossfire Hurricane investigation, and the left’s sustained campaign to cripple Trump’s first term in office and future political plans.

The list includes former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and ex-FBI Director James Comey, who pleaded not guilty this week in federal court on charges of lying and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

‘Disturbing and Outrageous’

The Grassley document shows the FBI obtained the lawmakers’ phone use records from Jan. 4 through Jan.7, 2021. The data does not include what was said, but it does identify the recipients of the calls, the duration and general location of the calls.

It seems Biden’s FBI wanted to hide the political spying operation. Grassley said the documents were stored in a Prohibited Access file, significantly limiting who could review the records.

“What I’ve uncovered today is disturbing and outrageous political conduct by the Biden FBI,” Grassley said in a statement.

The congressional targets included:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
Sen. Bill Hagerty R-Tenn.
Sen. Josh Hawley R-Mo.
Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska
Sen. Tommy Tuberville R-Ala.
Sen. Ron Johnson R-Wis.
Sen. Cynthia Lummis R-Wyo.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn R-Tenn.

Rep. Mike Kelly R-Pa.

Accountability is not Weaponization

Johnson said he wasn’t surprised to learn that the FBI was spying on him. He ad Grassley have seen this movie before.

In the summer of 2020, the senator said FBI agents and Democrats met with Johnson and Grassley in an effort to throw off their investigation into the infamous Hunter Biden laptop. The agents, according to the senators, falsely claimed that the GOP was giving credence to “foreign disinformation” about then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s profligate son. The FBI attempted to cloud the facts that agents well knew: the laptop in question did belong to Hunter Biden, the information on it was damning, and it would most likely hurt the senior Biden’s chances at defeating Trump in the 2020 election.

But whistleblowers exposed the FBI’s subterfuge.

“If these recent whistleblower revelations are true, it would strongly suggest that the FBI’s August 6, 2020 briefing was indeed a targeted effort to intentionally undermine a Congressional investigation,” Johnson wrote in a July 2022 follow-up letter to Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland. “The FBI being weaponized against two sitting chairmen of U.S. Senate committees with constitutional oversight responsibilities would be one of the greatest episodes of Executive Branch corruption in American history.”

Johnson told The Federalist that the Democratic Party and their corporate media “communication arm” are pushing a false equivalency. After all we’ve learned about the corruption of the deep state and the Biden presidency, Johnson can be excused for rolling his eyes at the left’s accusations that President Donald Trump is “weaponizing the government against his enemies.”

Accountability, the senator said, is not weaponization.

“You’ve got a  [Trump] Justice Department trying to clean itself up, trying to root out the deep state partisan actors within, trying to then hold those accountable who grotesquely abused their power weaponizing the federal government,” Johnson said.
