Biden Won’t Be Bragging About This Year’s July Fourth Cookout Prices Which Rose 17 Percent

The numbers are in, and it doesn’t look like President Joe Biden will be bragging about saving Americans money at this year’s Fourth of July parties.

According to a new report from the American Farm Bureau Federation, the total cost for an Independence Day BBQ is up $10 from 2021. That’s a 17 percent hike in cookout prices thanks to government-induced inflation.

In total, the cost is about $69.68 for a 10-person celebration that includes grilling essentials such as “cheeseburgers, pork chops, chicken breasts, homemade potato salad, strawberries, and ice cream.”

Remember last year’s BBQ food prices? They were slightly lower than in 2020 when parts of the country were still under government-mandated lockdown and enduring the beginning of a years-long supply-chain crisis, so President Joe Biden’s team tried to spin the inconsequential price decrease in his favor.

“The cost of a 4th of July cookout in 2021 is down $0.16 from last year,” the White House bragged in a pun-filled video posted to Twitter in 2021.

At the time, the Biden administration used the same American Farm Bureau Federation’s food price stats to argue that “the Biden economic plan is working,” even though Americans were doomed to buy gas that was at a seven-year high (RIP that $3.09 per gallon national average) and suffering a 5 percent increase in consumer prices.

That was just a few months after Biden gave a harangue demanding that Americans obey Anthony Fauci’s Covid-19 restrictions and shot orders or risk another wave of lockdowns.

Now Americans are largely free from the pandemic regime’s clutches but don’t necessarily have the financial freedom to host an expensive cookout. After all, how can a family that is already living paycheck to paycheck keep up with the $4.87 per gallon national gas price average and inflation that is rising at its fastest pace in the last four decades? In just one run to the grocery store for essential items, Americans are paying 11.9 percent more than they did in May of last year.

Thanks to the Biden administration’s reckless spending, inattention to the financial problems cursing American pocketbooks, and ongoing supply-chain crisis, which has prevented babies from getting the formula they need, I doubt we’ll see a cutesy graphic from the White House about this year’s Independence Day cookout prices.

The White House may have bragged about “saving” Americans nickels and dimes during last year’s Fourth of July BBQ, but even with Biden’s so-called gas tax suspension, which doesn’t move the needle for most Americans who need fuel, there’s nothing for Biden to boast about in 2022.
