Biden trips climbing Air Force One steps in Finland.

President Joe Biden’s Stumble on Air Force One

President Joe Biden had a momentary stumble while ascending the stairs of Air Force One, leaving Helsinki, Finland, on his way back to Washington, D.C. Despite the minor mishap, Biden quickly regained his composure and reached the top of the stairs without incident. As he waved to the press and those gathered on the airport runway, he entered the executive airplane.

Biden’s History of Stumbles

Biden has had a few stumbling incidents throughout his presidency. In 2021, he tripped while climbing the stairs to Air Force One, and in June 2022, he fell off his bike while greeting a crowd in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Just last month, the president had a concerning moment when he stumbled and fell onstage after a graduation ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy. However, he quickly received assistance and stood back up, pointing to the black sandbag that caused his fall. White House officials confirmed that Biden was unharmed.

In April, Biden announced his intention to seek a second term as president in 2024, making him the oldest U.S. president in history.

Biden’s European Trip

Biden’s recent trip to Europe included visits to the United Kingdom, the NATO summit in Lithuania, and Finland, a new member of NATO. During the NATO summit, Sweden took steps towards becoming the 32nd member of the alliance, while Ukraine’s timeline for joining remains uncertain. Despite this, the alliance reaffirmed its support for Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia.
