Biden Criticized for 9/11 Anniversary Location Choice

President Biden Faces Criticism for 9/11 Anniversary Plans

Last year, President Joe Biden vowed to “never forget” the lives lost in the 9/11‍ terror attacks. However, this year, he is being‌ accused of breaking that promise. Instead of ‌visiting the usual 9/11 memorials, Biden is attending a ceremony‌ in Alaska, thousands of miles away from Ground Zero.

In a tweet, Biden acknowledged⁣ the significance of the day, stating,⁣ “Today, we remember the 2,977 precious lives stolen from us on 9/11 and reflect on all that was lost in the fire and ash that ⁣September morning.” ‌However, many have ‌criticized his decision to be absent from the memorial sites.

9/11 Families United chair Terry Strada expressed her disappointment, stating, “He is ⁢now⁣ just saying‍ that flippantly that ⁢he doesn’t have⁣ to come ⁤to any of the sites and commemorate ‌the ‍loss with the families. That’s terrible.” Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Donald Arias, who lost his brother in the attacks, also criticized Biden’s absence,‍ saying, ‍”We can ⁤do without‌ that.”

The decision to skip the ⁣9/11 memorials has sparked a wave of criticism on social media, with many questioning ‌the president’s priorities.

The ⁤9/11 attacks had a profound impact on the United States, leading to the “Global War on Terror” and military involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. The decision to prioritize⁣ a ceremony in Alaska over⁣ the ⁤traditional memorial sites has left many questioning President Biden’s commitment to ⁤honoring the ⁤memory ⁣of those who lost their lives on that fateful day.
