Full testimony of Devon Archer in the Biden investigation released.
The House Oversight Committee Releases Full Transcript of Devon Archer’s Testimony
The House Oversight Committee has released the full transcript of Devon Archer’s testimony, providing new insights into the relationship between Hunter Biden and his father, Joe Biden, as well as the actions of Burisma officials. Archer, who worked alongside Hunter Biden at the Rosemont Seneca Partners investment firm before both became board members of Burisma, revealed some intriguing details during his interview.
Burisma Officials’ Control Over Ukrainian Prosecutor
According to Archer’s testimony, Burisma officials did not want the Ukrainian Prosecutor General, Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the company, to be removed from office. They claimed to have him “under control.” This contradicts allegations made in an FBI-generated tip sheet, where it was claimed that Burisma’s head, Mykola Zlochevsky, paid both Hunter Biden and his father $5 million to pressure the Ukrainian government to fire Shokin. Archer stated that he was unaware of any such payment.
The Influence of the “Biden Brand”
Archer also revealed that Hunter Biden had his father on speakerphone during business meetings on multiple occasions. He emphasized that the “Biden brand” attached to Burisma was crucial for the company’s survival, suggesting that it would have gone out of business without it. Archer explained that the “Biden brand” made people hesitant to challenge the company legally, with Joe Biden bringing the most value to the brand.
Furthermore, Archer testified that Hunter Biden would use the “brand” as leverage with the company, rather than explicitly requesting favors from his father. This strategy allowed him to navigate the business world effectively.
The Four Seasons Hotel Incident
Archer recounted an incident in 2014 when he, Hunter Biden, and two Burisma executives were at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dubai. During a conversation, Zlochevsky expressed the company’s need for assistance from the United States government to handle pressure from Shokin, visa issues, and frozen assets. Archer stepped away, and Hunter Biden was instructed to call “D.C.” While Archer was not privy to the call, he was informed by one of the executives that Hunter Biden had contacted his father, who was then the vice president.
Days later, Joe Biden visited Ukraine and threatened to withhold American aid unless Shokin was fired.
These revelations from Devon Archer’s testimony shed new light on the relationship between the Bidens and Burisma, as well as the actions of the company’s officials. The full transcript provides valuable information for further investigation and analysis.
