Biden FBI Sought Records Of Conservatives In Get-Trump Probe

Teh article reveals that the Biden administration’s FBI issued subpoenas to obtain bank records, communications, and documents from numerous prominent conservatives and Republican-affiliated groups as part of an extensive inquiry known as the “Arctic Frost” probe targeting associates of former President Donald Trump. Released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, the documents show the FBI’s efforts to scrutinize groups such as the save America PACs, the Trump Make America Great Again committee, the Conservative Partnership Institute, and figures including Mark Meadows, Cleta Mitchell, Stephen Miller, Ed Corrigan, and the Republican National Committee. The probe, which began in 2022, involved multiple subpoenas seeking testimony and records tied to key conservative leaders and organizations, highlighting a broad and aggressive approach by federal authorities toward Trump allies ahead of the 2024 election. The article suggests thes actions constitute a form of “lawfare” against Trump and his political circle.

The Biden FBI filed subpoenas seeking the bank records and communications of numerous conservatives and Republican-affiliated organizations as part of its lawfare against Donald Trump, new records show.

Released Wednesday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the documents demonstrate the expansive efforts the agency undertook to target any individual and group associated with the former president throughout its “Arctic Frost” probe. As The Federalist previously reported, that inquiry “ultimately became Jack Smith’s elector case against Trump.”

According to newly disclosed files, the Biden FBI filed a subpoena on Sept. 19, 2022, with Chain Bridge Bank, seeking any requested “testimony, documents, and/or communications” from several Trump-affiliated political groups. This named list included the “Save America PAC, Save America Leadership PAC, and/or Save America JFC,” and the “Trump Make America Great Again JFC.”

The subpoena was one of many the Biden FBI would file in the coming months as part of its quest to target any individual and group associated with the eventual 2024 Republican presidential nominee.

A month later, on Oct. 11, 2022, the agency filed a subpoena with National Capital Bank to obtain “testimony, documents, and/or communications” from the Conservative Partnership Institute. The request specifically named Mark Meadows and Cleta Mitchell. While Meadows served as Trump’s White House chief of staff during his first term, Mitchell serves as chair of the Election Integrity Network and advised Trump on his post-2020 election litigation in Georgia.

The revelation is particularly notable given a separate batch of Arctic Frost records released on Tuesday revealed that the Biden FBI was also targeting CPI President and CEO Ed Corrigan as part of its expansive inquiry. In a September 2022 exchange with the Washington, D.C., FBI Field Office, an unidentified individual with the Seattle FBI Field Office cited claims from an unnamed individual, who contended that Corrigan is “pro-Putin and anti-Biden” and that he “has [redacted] properties at which he wants to build up infrastructure to train people for civil war.”

Corrigan was named in several subpoenas filed by the Biden FBI throughout late 2022 and early 2023, the records released Wednesday show.

Other prominent conservatives and Republican-leaning organizations targeted in the subpoenas unveiled Wednesday include Stephen Miller, the Republican National Committee, America First Policy Institute, and many others.
