Biden’s Hispanic disapproval ratings in key state are alarming: Poll

President Biden Losing ⁢Hispanic Support in⁢ New Mexico, Poll Shows

A recent poll conducted by Power the Future and Public Opinion Strategies reveals that President Joe Biden’s approval rating among Hispanics in New⁣ Mexico has plummeted since taking office. In ‍fact, a staggering 63% of Hispanics surveyed disapprove of Biden’s performance, with 51% strongly ⁢disapproving. Only 36% approve of his job ‌as president.

This‍ significant decline in Hispanic support is a complete reversal from the 2020 election results, where Biden secured 61% of the Hispanic vote in New Mexico compared to‌ Trump’s 38%. Furthermore, Biden’s overall approval rating in the state is also concerning, ⁢with only 41% of voters approving of his performance while 57% ‌disapprove, mirroring‍ the national average.

Trouble Ahead for Biden

“Politically, ‍New Mexico may be a small state, but these results ‌spell big trouble for Joe Biden,” warns Power the Future Communications Director Larry Behrens. “The economy and crime ⁤are the top concerns for voters,⁢ and it’s clear that⁤ Biden’s failures are driving his declining numbers.”

The survey, which interviewed 500 registered likely voters‌ in the state from January 5-8, highlights the key issues for New Mexicans: the economy (24%), crime (23%), and education (15%). Immigration (12%) ranks below the environment‌ (13%) in terms of importance.

Notably, ‌nearly half of Hispanic voters polled rated the state’s economy as “poor,” ‍while another 33% described‍ it as “only fair.” Similarly, 73% of all registered voters surveyed believe⁢ the economy is either “poor” or “only fair.”

Higher Prices and ⁣Political Consequences

“Families in New Mexico, like families across the country, are facing rising prices for everything, so‍ it’s no surprise they believe ‌Joe Biden should⁢ face political consequences,” says Behrens.

In the previous presidential election, Biden won New Mexico by nearly 100,000 votes,‍ securing victories in the state’s two largest cities, Albuquerque and Las Cruces. While Trump made⁤ gains with Hispanics in 2020 compared to 2016, Biden managed to garner enough Hispanic ‌support to‍ secure his victory. However, current trends indicate that‌ Biden ‌is losing support from both Hispanic and black voters as the‍ 2024 election approaches.

According to a recent USA Today/Suffolk poll, Biden is trailing Trump among Hispanic voters nationally, with only 34% support compared to Trump’s 39%. Additionally, Biden’s support among ⁢black voters has also ‌declined, with only 63% backing him compared to the 87% he received in the‍ 2020 election.

What is the approval rating of President Biden’s performance in healthcare among Hispanics in New Mexico compared to ‌the overall population?

(18%), healthcare (14%), and immigration⁤ (12%). It is concerning that not only does Biden have low approval ‍ratings⁢ overall ⁣in ‍these areas, but specifically among Hispanics, who make up a significant portion⁤ of the population in New Mexico.

The Economy

The survey reveals⁣ that the economy is a top concern for⁢ voters in‍ New Mexico. With 24% of respondents listing it as their ⁢main concern, it is clear that the state’s economic situation is of‍ great importance to its residents. Unfortunately, Biden’s policies and actions ‍in regard to the economy have not resonated ⁤well with Hispanics in the state. His approval rating on economic issues stands at⁣ a meager 32%, with a staggering 65% disapproving of his performance. This represents a significant‌ decline in support from the 2020 election.

Crime

One of the other major concerns for New Mexicans‍ is the issue ⁣of crime. With 18% of respondents listing it ‍as their top concern, it is evident that citizens are worried about their safety ⁢and the increasing crime rates in the state. Biden’s response to‍ this issue has not ‍been well received by Hispanics, with only 31% approving of his handling⁤ of crime while 66% disapprove. It is clear that there ⁢is a disconnect between the President’s actions and the expectations of the Hispanic ⁤community in regards to addressing crime.

Healthcare and⁢ Immigration

Healthcare and immigration are two other important issues for voters in New Mexico. However, Biden’s performance in these areas has not fared well among Hispanics. Only 36% of Hispanics approve of ⁢his handling of healthcare, while 62% disapprove. On the issue of immigration, 39% approve of his actions while 59% disapprove. ‌This lack of support suggests ⁤that‍ Hispanics in New Mexico are not satisfied with the President’s approach to ⁢these⁣ key issues.

Impact on ⁤the Midterms

The declining Hispanic support for ⁣President Biden in New Mexico could have significant implications for‍ the upcoming midterm elections. With this key ⁢demographic being disillusioned with the President’s performance, it is possible that they may turn to other candidates⁢ or parties in the 2022 elections. Moreover,⁤ if this trend continues across other crucial swing states, it could jeopardize the Democrats’ chances of ⁤maintaining‍ control of Congress.

In conclusion, the recent poll ⁣conducted by Power the Future and Public Opinion Strategies⁢ in New Mexico highlights⁤ President Biden’s ⁣loss⁣ of Hispanic ⁤support since taking office. With‌ a significant decline in approval ratings among Hispanics in key ‌areas such ⁢as the economy, crime, healthcare, ⁤and immigration, it is evident⁣ that Biden’s performance is not resonating well with this demographic. This⁣ decline‌ in support could have far-reaching consequences for the President and his party in⁣ the‍ upcoming midterm ‌elections. It remains to be seen whether Biden can ⁣reverse this trend and regain the trust of Hispanic voters in New Mexico and beyond.
