Biden’s Rare TV Interview Interrupted by Bug Distraction
Biden Becomes Distracted by Bug While Talking About ‘National Emergency’ During Rare TV Interview
President Joe Biden’s recent interview with the Weather Channel at the Grand Canyon showcased his inability to speak coherently, maintain focus, respect personal boundaries, and tell the truth.
During the interview, Biden managed to exhibit all of these shortcomings. At one point, while discussing climate change in an unintelligible manner, he paused to brush a bug off the shoulder of his young female interviewer, meteorologist Stephanie Abrams.
The interview clip was shared on Twitter by RNC Research, accompanied by a paraphrased summary of the exchange. However, the tweet failed to capture the full extent of Biden’s incoherence and the tone in Abrams’ voice when he touched her.
“Are you prepared to declare a national emergency with respect to climate change?”
BIDEN: “We’ve already done that”
“So you’ve already declared that national emergency?

During the interview, Abrams asked Biden if he was prepared to declare a national emergency regarding climate change, a question expected from the Weather Channel’s climate-change-focused agenda. Biden’s response was a jumble of false claims and grandiose statements.
He mentioned conserving more land, joining the Paris Climate Accord, and passing a large climate-control facility budget. However, it was unclear whether he meant the facility was air-conditioned or if he misspoke. Abrams did not challenge him on this, as she had her own agenda to promote.
When Abrams asked again about the national emergency declaration, Biden became distracted by a bug and used it as an excuse to touch her shoulder. Despite the interruption, Abrams persisted with her question, to which Biden responded with another lie, using evasive language reminiscent of a skilled liar.
This 33-second clip perfectly encapsulates Biden’s unappealing qualities. He lies about declaring a national climate-change emergency, struggles to communicate clearly, and refers to climate change as an “existential threat to humanity,” another falsehood. Additionally, his distraction by a bug and subsequent physical contact with Abrams further highlight his lack of focus and respect for personal boundaries.
In a way, it is fitting that Biden’s interview took place in the Southwest, as he increasingly resembles the corrupt and dim-witted fictional governor William J. Le Petomane from the film “Blazing Saddles.” However, unlike the comedic portrayal by Mel Brooks, Biden’s actions provide unintentional comedy rather than intentional humor.
