President Joe Biden and Family Enjoy Pilates Class After Visiting Wildfire Devastation in Hawaii
President Joe Biden, accompanied by first lady Jill Biden and their family members, took some time to unwind and recharge after their visit to witness the historic wildfire devastation in Hawaii. The Bidens, including granddaughters Maisy and Naomi Biden, Maisy’s husband Peter Neal, and Hunter Biden’s youngest son, Beau Biden, were spotted attending a Pilates class together.
Debate: Will GOP Voters Tune In Without Front-Runner Trump?
During his visit to Maui, the president engaged with wildfire victims, but faced criticism for his awkward storytelling and jokes about a small kitchen fire that almost claimed his beloved ’67 Corvette. “To make a long story short, I lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette, and my cat,” he quipped. “But all kidding aside, I watched the firefighters, the way they responded.”
Another remark that drew ridicule was his mention of the “hot ground” in Maui.
As President Biden left the Pilates studio, reporters pressed him about the GOP debate and the emerging news regarding Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner Group mercenary chief who led a short-lived mutiny against the Kremlin in June and was involved in a plane crash in Russia on Wednesday.
“I don’t know the facts of what happened, but I’m not surprised,” Biden responded. “There’s not much that happens with Russia without Putin being behind it.”
When asked if he would watch Wednesday night’s GOP debate, Biden replied, “I’m going to try to see — get as much as I can, yes.” He added that he had no expectations for the debate.
Biden faced criticism during his vacation at his beach home in Delaware for providing “no comment” amidst breaking news about the wildfire that ravaged parts of Maui.
The president’s schedule for Wednesday does not include any public events, as he is staying in the $18 million rental home of billionaire liberal activist Tom Steyer.
