Biden Admin Accused of Leaking Response to 3 Dead U.S. Soldiers to the Enemy
President Biden Accused of Telegraphing Retaliatory Strikes Against Iran
President Joe Biden and his administration are facing criticism for allegedly revealing their plans to strike Iran and its terrorist proxy groups in the Middle East. This comes after three U.S. soldiers were killed in a terror attack over the weekend.
Sky News reported on Monday afternoon that Biden was preparing to authorize U.S. military action against the attackers, potentially tipping them off in the process.
Following the suicide drone attack on Sunday, the Iranian-backed terrorists responsible for the attack quickly evacuated their posts and dispersed their valuable equipment, anticipating U.S. airstrikes.
Biden officials leaked to Politico on Monday night the potential targets for retaliation:
Among the options on the table for the Pentagon: striking Iranian personnel in Syria or Iraq or Iranian naval assets in the Persian Gulf, according to the officials. The Iranian government, for its part, has suggested that a strike on Iran itself would be a red line. The officials suggested that, once the president gave the go-ahead, the retaliation would likely begin in the next couple of days and come in waves against a range of targets.
Rebeccah Heinrichs, senior fellow at Hudson Institute and director of its Keystone Defense Initiative, criticized the administration for consistently revealing its plans to the enemy.
“It is a bizarre habit of this White House to overshare what it is going to do to the enemy,” she said. “It does not appear that it is meant to complicate the enemy’s calculations or make him fear us; instead it seems meant to clarify for the enemy and assure him. It would be far better to say nothing at all.”

When Biden recently launched limited retaliatory strikes against Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen, he was accused of warning them in advance.
“A surprise attack obviously gives us better odds of killing more Houthis, destroying their weapons, and keeping our service members safe. Telegraphing the attack decreases those odds,” Heinrichs told The Daily Wire. “It is a maddening hallmark of this administration’s approach in responding to aggression. It seems to think by allaying the fears of our enemies, communicating that we won’t hurt them ‘too badly,’ they won’t hit us back ‘too much.’”
“We should be making our enemies fear us,” she added. “We have the overwhelming advantage. We have got to start acting like it or it will keep getting worse.”
How do Republicans and national security experts view the Biden administration’s decision to leak sensitive information about potential targets
The other hand, targeting Iranian-backed militias in Iraq could be a more acceptable option.
The revelation of potential targets has raised concerns that the Biden administration may have inadvertently given Iran and its proxy groups time to prepare and hide, potentially compromising the success of any future military action. Republican lawmakers and national security experts are now questioning the administration’s decision to leak such sensitive information.
Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel James Riggins told Fox News that “if Iran knows where we plan to strike, they can pre-position their own forces and assets in order to minimize the damage and increase the likelihood of survival.” Riggins also expressed concern that the disclosure of targets could undermine the integrity of U.S. intelligence and military operations in the region.
Republicans are criticizing Biden for what they see as weakness in dealing with Iran and its proxy groups. Senator Tom Cotton tweeted, “The Biden administration’s blunders are putting U.S. national security at risk. We shouldn’t be telegraphing our moves to terrorists and their sponsors.” Cotton and other Republicans argue that by revealing potential targets, the Biden administration has jeopardized the element of surprise needed for a successful military operation.
Biden’s handling of the situation has also drawn comparisons to the policies of his predecessor, former President Donald Trump. During his presidency, Trump was known for his unpredictability and willingness to take swift and decisive action against adversaries. Critics of Biden argue that his more measured and diplomatic approach may be interpreted as weakness by Iran and its proxy groups.
The accusation of telegraphing retaliatory strikes against Iran is not the first controversy to surround the Biden administration’s foreign policy. Many conservatives and national security experts have expressed concerns over the administration’s approach to Iran, particularly regarding negotiations over the Iran nuclear deal. Critics argue that Biden’s willingness to re-enter the deal without addressing its flaws may embolden Iran and threaten regional stability.
As tensions continue to rise in the Middle East and U.S. soldiers remain at risk, the Biden administration will face increasing scrutiny over its handling of the situation. The revelation of potential targets has only added fuel to the fire, with critics accusing the administration of undermining U.S. national security and compromising any potential military action against Iran and its proxy groups. Whether these accusations will have long-term consequences for the Biden administration’s foreign policy approach remains to be seen.
