The recent capture of Skylar Meade, 31, and his alleged accomplice, Nicholas Umphenour, 28, by law enforcement in Twin Falls, Idaho, has brought a dramatic chapter to a close.
“This brazen, violent, and apparently coordinated attack on Idaho Department of Corrections personnel, to facilitate an escape of a dangerous inmate, was carried out right in front of the Emergency Department, where people come for medical help, often in the direst circumstances,” noted Boise Police Chief Ron Winegar.

Meade, convicted of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer with various felony convictions, initiated his escape during a transfer from Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Umphenour, a fellow inmate, allegedly opened fire on corrections officers during the event.
