U.S. Forces Face Escalating Attacks in Middle East, Biden’s Response Lacking
Increased Attacks by Iranian-Backed Terrorists in the Middle East
Attacks by Iranian-backed terrorists against U.S. forces in the Middle East have intensified, leaving U.S. officials frustrated by President Joe Biden’s lack of a strong response to deter future attacks.
Over the course of approximately 48 hours, around a dozen attacks targeted U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria, including sites such as Al Asad Air Base, Mission Support Site Euphrates, Rumalyn Landing Zone, Patrol Base Shaddadi, Erbil, Green Village, and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, according to Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin.
Since October 17, U.S. forces have faced numerous attacks in the region from Islamic terrorist groups supported by Iran. These attacks have involved missiles and drones, some of which have targeted U.S. Navy warships in the Red Sea.
On Saturday, U.S. Central Command announced that the French Navy had successfully intercepted and destroyed two Houthi drones in the Red Sea off the Coast of Yemen, which were launched from Yemen itself.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly informed Biden that if the U.S. fails to take action against the Houthi terrorists based in Yemen, Israel will take matters into its own hands. This comes after the terrorist group has repeatedly targeted shipping vessels associated with Israel.
According to numerous U.S. defense officials who spoke to POLITICO, Biden’s approach to handling the situation has been problematic. By attempting to avoid escalation, the opposite effect is occurring.

“Where are the strikes on [Houthi] targets?” questioned Marc Polymeropoulos, a former CIA official, on social media. “We need to see this ASAP.”
Retired Vice Adm. John Miller, the former commander of U.S. 5th Fleet, expressed concern that the U.S. is not taking these attacks seriously and that they have largely gone unanswered.
“Right now, we’re not deterring anybody,” Miller stated.
How has President Biden’s response (or lack thereof) to the increased attacks by Iranian-backed terrorists impacted U.S. officials’ frustration?
P>In response to the increased attacks, U.S. officials have expressed their frustration with President Biden’s lack of a strong response. The attacks on U.S. forces in the Middle East are not only a threat to national security but also a direct challenge to American interests in the region.
The Iranian-backed terrorists responsible for these attacks are known to have close ties to the Iranian government. Iran has long been involved in supporting terrorist organizations in the Middle East as a way to further its own political agenda and expand its influence in the region.
The recent surge in attacks by these Iranian-backed terrorists is a clear indication that Iran is emboldened and feels that it can act with impunity. The lack of a strong response from the Biden administration only reinforces this perception and sends a dangerous message to Iran that it can continue to support terrorism without consequences.
It is crucial for the United States to take decisive action to deter future attacks by Iranian-backed terrorists. The first step is for President Biden to publicly condemn these attacks and make it clear that the United States will not tolerate aggression against its forces or its allies in the Middle East.
Furthermore, the United States should consider targeted sanctions against individuals and organizations that are known to be involved in supporting terrorist activities in the region. These sanctions can cripple the financial networks that these terrorists rely on and make it much more difficult for them to carry out attacks against U.S. forces.
In addition to these measures, the United States should also work with its regional allies to enhance intelligence sharing and military cooperation. By working together, the United States and its allies can better track and disrupt the activities of Iranian-backed terrorists in the region, significantly reducing the likelihood of successful attacks.
It is important to recognize that the threat posed by Iranian-backed terrorists in the Middle East extends beyond the immediate impact of their attacks. These terrorists are part of a larger network of extremist organizations that are committed to spreading violence and instability throughout the region.
By taking a strong stance against Iranian-backed terrorism, the United States can not only protect its forces and interests in the region but also promote peace and stability in the Middle East. Failure to address this threat adequately will only result in an escalation of violence and further destabilize an already volatile region.
The United States cannot afford to ignore the increased attacks by Iranian-backed terrorists in the Middle East. It is crucial for President Biden to demonstrate a strong and decisive response that makes it clear to Iran and its proxies that their actions will not go unpunished. Only then can we hope to effectively counter the threat posed by these terrorists and ensure the safety and security of U.S. forces in the region.
