Teh article reports that at least ten U.S. service members were wounded in an Iranian attack on prince sultan air base in Saudi Arabia, with two seriously injured. A base building was struck by a missile and several refueling aircraft were damaged; officials described the strike as likely retaliation for Friday’s Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. This is at least the second attack on the base, and Sgt. Benjamin Pennington had previously died from injuries from a March 1 attack, bringing American troop deaths in the conflict to thirteen.

Iranian officials reportedly rejected a U.S.15-point peace proposal, wich included reopening the Strait of Hormuz, limits on Iran’s ballistic missiles, and the removal of Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Iran countered with demands for reparations from the U.S. and Israel, recognition of Iranian authority over the Strait of Hormuz, and a halt to Israeli and U.S. attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon and pro-Iranian militias in Iraq.

The piece also notes political-military moves in the United States, including a plan to deploy at least 1,000 airborne troops to the Middle East amid ongoing talks with Iran. It mentions that Trump paused energy-plant destruction for 10 days to April 6, 2026, and claimed talks are progressing, despite statements to the contrary from some outlets.

At least 10 US troops wounded in Iranian strike in Saudi Arabia: Report

At least ten U.S. service members were injured in an Iranian attack on Prince Sultan air base in Saudi Arabia on Friday, according to reports.

Two of the troops were seriously injured as well, the Associated Press reported on Friday night. Multiple U.S. and Arab officials said that a building on the base was struck by an Iranian missile, according to the Wall Street Journal. Multiple refueling aircraft were also damaged in the attack.

At least one missile struck the base, as well as multiple unmanned aerial vehicles, officials told the outlet. The attack was likely in retaliation for Israel’s Friday strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Friday’s attack is at least the second strike on the Saudi air base. Sgt. Benjamin Pennington died from injuries from a March 1 attack on the base, one of 13 American troops to have died during the war so far.

Iranian officials rejected a purported 15-point proposal from the U.S. on Wednesday, which reportedly included the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, placing limits on Iran’s ballistic missile capacity and range, and the removal of Iran’s nuclear capabilities and facilities.

In response to the U.S.’s proposal, Iran made a counteroffer of their own, asking for reparations from the U.S. and Israel for damages from strikes from the two countries, recognition of Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz, and a stop to Israeli and U.S. attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon and pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, among other points.

TRUMP TO DEPLOY AT LEAST 1,000 AIRBORNE TROOPS TO MIDDLE EAST AMID IRAN PEACE TALKS

Trump has given Iran till April 6 to reach a deal with U.S. negotiators and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

“As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time,” the president wrote in a post on Truth Social. “Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well.”
