Church musician’s bones broken by anti-Christian mob, yet he persists in worshiping God.

A Christian Teenager Stands Firm in‌ the Face of Terrorist ⁤Violence

A Christian teenager in India has shown ⁤incredible resilience and courage in ⁣the face of terrorist violence. According to NBC, 16-year-old Abhishek Donald was severely injured when an anti-Christian mob attacked the Prarthana Bhawan Church in Delhi on Aug. 20.

“They came straight inside and started beating up people,” church⁢ pastor Satpal Bhati‍ said of the attackers. “They broke⁣ a chair, ⁢tore‍ our Bible, busted the drums, and beat the kid’s hand with a rod.”

The mob consisted of approximately 30 people who claimed that India is a ⁣Hindu nation ⁢and that Christianity should ‍not be⁤ practiced. This incident is part of a larger ⁢wave of sectarian violence driven by Hindu nationalism in India.

Despite ⁤the danger and intimidation, the faith of the churchgoers remains unshaken. One of the attendees,⁣ 73-year-old Rock Robinson,‌ drew ⁤inspiration from⁤ the New Testament, comparing their situation to that of Jesus’s disciples ⁢who faced persecution but continued to preach the gospel.

“Even ‍Jesus’s disciples were put behind bars, but then they ‌had ⁢an‍ opportunity to ⁤preach, preach, preach,” Robinson said.

Abhishek, ⁢the brave teenager with broken knuckles, expressed his disappointment in those who ⁢chose to stay away from‌ church out‌ of ‌fear. He emphasized that they should not let fear ⁢dictate their⁣ faith.

As Christians, we ⁤understand that ‍the world is‌ filled with spiritual battles between good and evil. In these challenging times, we are called to remain steadfast in our ‌faith and ⁤trust in God’s care. The examples set by Abhishek, Robinson, Bhati, and their ⁤fellow believers inspire us to persevere in the ‍face of adversity.

In a lecture‌ at Illinois Wesleyan University in 1966, Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke about ⁣the endurance of Christians in the midst of trials:

“We ⁣will match your capacity to ‍inflict suffering by our capacity to endure suffering,” he said. “We will meet your physical force with soul force. And do to ⁣us what you will,⁤ and we will still love you.”

The spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. lives ⁢on at Prarthana Bhawan Church, where the determination to worship God remains unyielding despite the violence inflicted upon them.
