Gallup: America ‘weak’ under Biden

Underwhelming Satisfaction with Conditions in the Country Puts Biden’s Second Term at Risk

After⁢ nearly four years of the Biden presidency, satisfaction with conditions in the country is a very underwhelming “anemic,”⁢ the latest⁤ sign that President Joe⁤ Biden faces an uphill battle⁢ to win a second term.

“Today’s 33% ⁣satisfaction with the nation’s system of government ⁣remains one of the lowest readings,” the latest ⁣Gallup‌ survey of the nation’s ‌mood said.

On ⁢matters from immigration to confidence in military strength under Biden, America has the blahs. Gallup used the word “anemic” when analyzing its ⁣survey ⁣results.

“Of 29⁢ aspects of the country Gallup‍ has tracked during Biden’s ‍presidency, public satisfaction has declined in 12, while it has been steady in 12‍ and improved ⁤in five. As a result, in a reversal of the pattern seen before 2021, anemic (sub-33%) public satisfaction ratings of national ⁢conditions now outnumber⁤ strong (50%+) ones, and ⁢by a substantial margin,” the ⁤pollster said.

Gallup has been taking the nation’s pulse in its mood survey ‍for over two decades. The high came right after the ‌9/11 attacks with⁢ support for former President George W. Bush’s promise of retaliation.

But over the past ⁣few years, good⁤ feelings have faded, except on a⁢ few matters, such‍ as race relations.

Gallup ⁣said⁤ the‌ mood was pretty‌ good⁢ during the last presidential ⁤election ⁤year, 2020,⁣ when Biden came into office. But as he struggles with the ⁤border crisis and‌ economy, it has‌ been ‌sinking.

Just 37% feel satisfied with most aspects of the nation, ‌down from 48% in 2020.

The key takeaways ‌from the Gallup write-up:

  • “Since‍ January 2021, public satisfaction⁤ has fallen most sharply with the nation’s military strength‍ and preparedness, the immigration level,‌ the nation’s energy policies, ⁤and ‍its laws or policies on guns. All four readings are ‌at‍ or near their record lows, with only satisfaction with the military (62% very or somewhat satisfied) holding at the⁣ majority⁣ level.”
  • “The public is⁤ also less content today than three years ago with federal taxes, the quality of medical care, abortion policies, the distribution of wealth, the ‌economy, public ⁢education, government regulation of business, and the position of women.”
  • “In some cases, such ⁢as ‍with⁢ the overall quality of life, and acceptance of gay and ‌lesbian people,⁤ satisfaction is holding at the majority level, ‍while‍ in others, such as with the size and influence‌ of major corporations as well ⁤as efforts to deal with poverty and homelessness, it is steady but⁤ scarce.”
  • “Americans have become slightly more satisfied ⁢with the position of Black adults and ⁢other‍ racial minority people in the⁤ country ⁢(up eight points to 43%) as well as with race‌ relations, perceptions of the size and power of the federal government,⁤ how well⁢ the federal government is working, and⁣ the state of‌ moral values. Still, satisfaction with most of these registers well⁤ below 50%.”

How has public satisfaction with immigration and border control ⁣changed under the ‍Biden administration compared‍ to previous administrations?

T George ⁣W. Bush soaring to‌ 90%⁣. Since then, satisfaction‌ has fluctuated but has generally remained above 40%⁣. However, under the Biden administration, it has ⁤consistently declined and currently sits at a disheartening 33%⁣.

One of the key areas⁣ where satisfaction ‍has plummeted is immigration. Biden’s approach to immigration and border control has been heavily ⁢criticized, with many Americans ⁢feeling that the⁣ current administration has failed to effectively address the challenges at ⁣the border. As a result, confidence in the government’s ability to handle ⁢immigration has ⁤significantly waned.

Furthermore, confidence in ⁢military strength has also taken a hit‍ under‌ Biden’s leadership. The ⁣Gallup survey ⁢revealed that satisfaction‍ with this aspect of the country has declined, indicating unease ⁤and lack of faith in‌ the administration’s handling of national security. This decline in confidence is concerning, particularly given the numerous global challenges⁤ and ⁣threats that the United States currently faces.

The Gallup survey⁤ also highlighted that public satisfaction in various other aspects‍ of the‍ country has declined during Biden’s presidency. This includes areas such as ⁤the economy, healthcare, ‌race relations, and crime. With satisfaction declining in such a wide range of areas, it is clear that there are glaring ‍issues ⁤that the Biden administration needs to address to regain the ⁤trust and support of the American people.

The shift from strong public satisfaction ratings ⁢to anemic ones is a significant turning point. It reflects a growing ⁣disillusionment⁣ and ⁤dissatisfaction among the American population with the current state of ⁢the country. These ‌low approval ratings pose a significant risk‌ to Biden’s chances of securing a second term.

To overcome this hurdle and‍ secure a second term, Biden must take ⁢decisive action to⁤ address the‍ concerns ⁢and challenges that ⁣the⁤ American people are ⁣facing.⁣ This includes implementing effective policies to address immigration issues and restore ⁢confidence in the government’s ability to ⁤handle national‍ security. Additionally, efforts should be made ‍to improve the ⁣economy, healthcare system, and‌ tackle issues related to race relations and‍ crime.

Biden’s second term at risk is not an exaggeration; it is the harsh reality that the administration ‍must confront. The underwhelming satisfaction⁣ with conditions in the country poses a serious‌ threat to his⁢ political future. It ⁣is high time for the Biden administration to ⁤listen ⁤to the concerns‌ of⁢ the American people, provide effective solutions, and work towards⁤ a brighter and ‌more prosperous‌ future for all.
