Man stabs multiple victims at school during Hamas’ ‘Day of Rage’; second attack prevented.
Man Goes on Stabbing Spree at French School, Shouting ”Allahu akbar!”
A man who was flagged as a security risk by French authorities unleashed a horrifying stabbing attack at a school, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of two others, according to officials.
The 20-year-old suspect, hailing from Russia’s predominantly Muslim southern Caucasus region of Chechnya, reportedly shouted “Allahu akbar!” during the assault, as reported by AFP.
French President Emmanuel Macron unequivocally stated that the attack was a result of “barbaric Islamist terrorism,” confirming the fears of many.
The incident took place at Gambetta High School in the northern French city of Arras, around 11 a.m. local time.
Tragically, a teacher lost their life, while a security guard sustained critical injuries and another teacher was stabbed but is reportedly in a less serious condition.
“The teacher who was killed had come forward to protect others and had undoubtedly saved many lives,” emphasized Macron.
According to POLITICO Europe, the suspect, identified as Mohammed Mogouchkov, had been under police surveillance prior to the attack and was listed as a radicalized individual.
Furthermore, one of the suspect’s brothers had been arrested in 2019 for alleged involvement in a foiled attack and is currently incarcerated, according to an Associated Press report. In a separate incident, police apprehended another individual near a different school, potentially preventing a second attack.

Martin Dousseau, a teacher who witnessed the horrifying incident, recounted in an interview with local media how the attacker targeted a staff member, the head cook, and inflicted multiple stab wounds.
“He then pursued me and asked, ‘Are you a history teacher?'” Dousseau continued. “Fortunately, we were near a glass door of the school, and we managed to lock ourselves inside.”
This act of Islamic terrorism follows the call by the former leader of Hamas for Muslims worldwide to hold a “day of rage” on Friday.
In response to the heightened tensions, French authorities banned pro-Palestinian protests in the country this week, following the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Israel that claimed the lives of over 1,300 innocent Israelis.
What measures can be implemented to promote social cohesion and inclusion in France, particularly within Muslim communities, to mitigate the risks of radicalization
Fied as Abdoulakh A., had previously been flagged as a security risk by French authorities. He had been on the radar of intelligence agencies for his possible radicalization tendencies.
The attack once again raises concerns about the threat of terrorism in France, which has faced several deadly terrorist attacks in recent years. The country has been on high alert, especially since the Charlie Hebdo attack in 2015.
President Macron condemned the attack, offering his condolences to the family of the victim and expressing solidarity with the school community. He also praised the bravery of the teacher who lost his life in an attempt to protect others. The President reiterated his commitment to fighting terrorism in all its forms and ensuring the safety of citizens.
The attack has once again ignited debates about the integration of Muslim communities in France and the potential risks of radicalization. Critics argue that more needs to be done to address the underlying issues that lead to such incidents. They call for increased efforts in promoting social cohesion and tackling the root causes of radicalization, such as marginalization and discrimination.
In response to the attack, France has increased security measures in schools and public places. The government is also intensifying its efforts to monitor and track individuals who pose a threat to national security. The incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for better intelligence sharing and coordination among European countries to prevent such attacks.
The tragic stabbing spree at the French school serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism and the need for continued vigilance. It is crucial for governments, communities, and individuals to work together in order to counter radicalization and promote a more peaceful and inclusive society. The attack also underscores the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation programs to prevent individuals from being drawn into extremist ideologies.
As France mourns the loss of another innocent life, it is imperative for society to come together and reject hate, violence, and extremism. Only through collective action and unity can we hope to overcome the challenges posed by terrorism and create a safer and more tolerant world.
